Weird Wireless Networking Issue

Lo chaps!

Basically i bought a new HDD and its gonna be my new primary drive so i Installed fresh copy of XP and all the newest drivers and thats it, i installed the drivers for the PCI wireless card in my PC to connect to the net and update the machine. It see's my wireless network and connects but it dosent receive a proper IP address and only gets "limited or no connectivity". Ive tried using the same networking settings from the existing HDD on the new one but its simply not getting anything back from the Router. DHCP is setup and running fine, Zonealarm is also fine. So i cant figure out what the issue could be?

The Router is not properly connecting to the PC and there are no changes in hardware except for the new HDD and fresh XP install.

Anyone have an idea what it could be?

 

Ive tried turning DHCP off and manually entering IP's and still to no avail. Ive even tried using a D-link usb dongle and still the same issue. This is getting silly.

 

First, try shutting down zonealarm. Then right click the connection ... repair. If nothing, try reinstalling the device....in device manager right click it...uninstall..reboot...have the drivers ready.

 

restart your router and check if you have a mac filter.

 

Zonealarm can be a pain in the bum at times. You may need (if you haven't already) to allow network access through the program's settings.

 

Ive tried all of those within the time of my second post, its weird coz its a fresh install of XP and everything is set to default. Or has the options needed for the PC to communicate to the router and as i have said there are no significant changes to hardware apart from the HDD and fresh XP install.

I wish Hex was here....

 

Here's a list of things ive tried:
* Reinstall of Wireless card with newer drivers
* Tried a USB dongle with no avail
* Manually set IP address's, not working
* Uninstalled Zonealarm
* No Mac addresses listed or filtered
* DHCP turned off then on again, only for the Router to see my Parents machine but not mine.

I have seen that its having a issue where it cant renew the IP address which could be a DHCP issue but ive reset it and its still giving me the issue.

Personally i think as its a fresh install im gonna just Format and Install over again to see if it solves anything but do any of you guys have any ideas?
