Please do bare with us chaps - a bit of a headache or 2 with migration, we are waiting for DNS to re-direct so had a config on the old setup in place. All questions will be answered as soon as possible we are tinkering in the background to make things better. We are in this for the long run, fear not!
Thank you for keeping us in the loop. Just as a casual observation: good communication reduces anxiety. Please could you tell us who you are?
A Nexxo double? Well I never... After 12 hours of melancholy I'm back again. I'd echo the other comments, let us know the juicy stuff! As far as I can tell Bit has been bought from Dennis, possibly by some ex-employees and others? I might be way out of course, but knowledge is power. John I take it Bit-tech is nothing new to you based on your work history?
Welcome on board. Couple of questions. 1) Do you want to make me a mod? I'll only abuse my power to control Shirty's wanton wearing of girls clothing. 2) Will you be continuing/increasing/decreasing the number of articles and reviews that go through? Will you be bringing back the buyers guide? 3) Are there any old Dennis employees coming with you?
I can answer 3) in as much as there were no Dennis employees working on Bit - only freelancers. The only possible exception to that was Ed, I don't know how he was positioned with Dennis. As for 1) I can't imagine anything more terrifying than a mod with a GIF/macro repository as big as yours Lance
And normality restored........ OK who turned on the infinite improbability drive........... I am sure the answers we seek will be answered once the transition is finished.
I gave up last night had to change password and now I'm able to get back in. I wonder if this change might lead to a mass exodus?
Naah, just the usual glitches that happen when a server migration takes place. I think a big sign on the home page would have been useful, and I also question the timing a bit (early evening when most people come home and log on, rather than mid-day), but it's all going to work out.
I was surprised at it being down for so long last night, would have made more sense to do it in the dead of night/during the day when fewer people may have been on, but ah well. Looking forward to seeing what stuff you guys will bring to the table
I had no end of trouble trying to get on again both last night and this morning, every time the same with the 'used up all the wrong log ins' or words to that effect. 3 password resets later and all good again so no worries. Personally I would like to see almost a step back to how BT used to feel, thankfully I've been here long enough to see just about all stages that the site and forums have gone through and my favorite time was when the site had a bit more of an amateur feel to it in terms of the guides and tutorials.
