so, last night I decided to flash my bios. pretty simple, put the Rom file on my flash drive, flashed the bios. the computer reset and tada, blank screen. computer won't post. fans just spin up and spin down. so... out comes the manual. found the jumper to clear cmos. do that. no good. try the pins again and pull the battery. no good. swear and curse. no good. off to the store in the morning and bought a motherboard. the store wants to change the CPU for me... fine no problem. go home, get computer, bring it in. they want me to take it apart first. fine.... back home, take it apart. bring the motherboard with CPU and ram in. they swap it to The new board. go home, install entire system. hit power. no post.... WTF!!! Here is where I notice that the led for my video card is lit.... swap the video card. computer starts no isssue. so... change all the equipment back to my old motherboard with a different video card. it works... flashing my motherboard killed my video card!!!!
And a rant tag which this ranting thread has been appropriately tagged with. The OP isn't looking for help or answers, just sharing a frustrating experience.
And the stupid ****ing thing still won't let me boot the god damm computer if I use the overclocked bios. **** me I bought it to flash it to a ****ing 6970! What the **** is the point to having a **** job and making piss money if you can't spend it on god damm ****ing hardware to overclock???? ****ing XFX and their god damm lifetime warrenty.... Better?
I had an XFX 4890, which is currently suffering from a broken fan. I can't tell you how difficult it is to find a replacement fan. I might just get a new card.
