Reviewing my current telecommunication packages as it has been a long time since I took them out. I'm looking at upgrading/changing broadband and mobile. I've got a good idea of what's available broadband wise but not so sure mobile wise. I also read/heard somewhere spring is when the telecomns publish new deals.

I won't touch VirginMedia with a barge pole. Landline needs to stay with BT if possible. Here's what I have at the moment:-

    Broadband:
    BE* There ISP
    BE Unlimited ADSL package
    I get 15Mbps, 18 if tweaked, 19~20 if tuned.
Truly unlimited. I have tested this heavily at all times of the day including peak.
    Been with them for 4yrs
    Paying £18.26 pm

    Mobile:
    T-Mobile
    2yrs contract ended in Nov
Was on PAYG with them for ~4yrs before that. Spent £5pm or less. Data & subsidised DHD made me take out a contract.
    -£10.50 pm
    -100 mins
    -100 texts
    -3GB data
    - Unlimited T-Mobile mins (swappable with Unlim Landline, Unlim Texts and some US/EU ones)

    Any recommendations?

Cant comment on mobile but for broadband i would look into FTTC if its available up to 80/20 download/upload depending on the distance from a enabled cab and fibre twin.
It will cost more then your Be package but is worth considering if you need the faster download/upload.

Also this year Openreach will launch FTTP on demand, so if you cabinet has a fibre twin you will be able to order a full FTTP solution, costs are not fully known yet as its still in the first trial stage but expect £1000+

Fiber with bt would save you cash, otherwise I'd just stick to bt.

Just moved to Plus.net for both fibre and phone. Turned out to be cheaper than paying Be and BT and is hell of a lot faster. Was getting about 17mb/s down and 1mb/s up on Be. Now I'm getting:

And there's no throttling or download limits.

Not Virgin or BT are my helpful recommendations.

For mobile, if you aren't too bothered about being in a contract and getting new phones every x period then you should look into giffgaff, if you do order a sim, use the link in my signature ;)

They run on the o2 network so have good coverage, at least for me they do might be worth checking it out on o2's website here.

    An update.
In the week that I asked for help I signed up to Vodafone after finding a nice package thanks to the link mucgoo posted.

    Vodafone RED - £20.50pm
    -1GB Internet
    -Unlimited Mins
    -Unlimited Texts
    -750MB BT Openzone
-Vodafone also free wifi on the London Underground

    But...
£120 Quidco cashback makes the 12 months effectively cost £10.50pm (30p cheaper per month than T-Mobile for more!)
Plus 10% student discount so my monthly payment over 12 months is effectively £9.45

    Not bad methinks.
Now to see if BE There will give me a loyalty discount whilst I wait to see if ISPs reflect BT Wholesale's new pricing.
