Cases What are the holes for? :)

    Hi all.

    Just a little Q? Any one no what these 4 holes are for? on sum pics on the net the case has them but on other photos the case hasnt. I have the case and its got them.

    They are not normal mobo screws as you can see the mobo holes are a differant style.

    Probably just something from the manufacturing process.

    Don't some Xeon heatsinks screw into the case as well as mobo?

    mmm was thinking that. Havent 1 of the CPU brands got a long square shaped back plate that goes on the back of the mobo kind of like the hole setup on the case?

    Mite email Silverstone tonight and see if they are any help.

    Do the holes really bother you that much? It's not like you could bolt something in and suddenly turn the case into gold or anything :)

    I bet on the manufacturing process/Xeon mount, but what does it really matter?

    Mite it be a place to bolt a SSD or 2.5" hdd? :D

    The motherboard tray with 4 holes is newer version and for some special motherboard and CPU cooler.

    Just sent them a reply to ask what special motherboard and CPU cooler use the holes :)

    Maybe they have a top secret mobo and cooler they no of. lol.

    771 Xeons also 'fit'. I say 'fit' because although the distant between the holes is the same the height of the socket is different. Do NOT mix up 603 and 771 coolers or you'll have some expensive mistakes.

    I can confirm that they are Mount points for Xeons.
