These two icons keep appearing every time I connect my mp3 player to my computer. They never used to appear on my old Windows installation. They don't seem to do anything but I think they have something to do with the way I installed the player (I had to try lots of different drivers and software before getting it to work). Anyway the normal 'Always Hide' feature for the XP system tray doesn't work on these icons. Any one know how I can get rid of 'em?

Probably third party software you installed with the drivers. Search add/remove and see if you can take them out. Also search program files for the offending directory and uninstall.

Umm actually I'm not sure why I didn't try this before but clicking on the icons brings up this:

So it's either a setting in Windows or something to do with realplayer. Selecting 'Always perform the selected action' has no effect.

It's just the default windows action as far as I know - it's detected the type of player, put the icon there for your 'convenience' and then when you click it you get the list of actions that can be performed.
