Finally started Stranger Things season 5, because the missus insisted on catching up prior to watching it. So, I've been waiting while she re-watched the entire series over the last month and a half!

**** knows when we'll start on Pluribus, because she doesn't want to watch two at once. She has no problem ploughing through two soaps or reality tv BS every night though... :wallbash:

Tried Pluribus but just couldn't get into it. Keep hearing it's meant to be good, but I do seem hard to please lately. Let us know how you get on.

Severance I started as well, might try that again for same reason.

I have seasons 4 & 5 of ST to do.

OH says she may enjoy ST so I said I'd watch from the beginning again. Trouble is trying to get her to start the bloody thing!

    i know that feeling!

    conversation along the lines of:
Me & SWMBO have sat down to watch some TV
Me: would you like to watch X
    SWMBO: yeah
Me: ok (goes to select it)
    SWMBO: oh, not now though
Me: ok, do you want to watch it together?
    SWMBO: oh yes
Me: what do you want to watch?
SWMBO: <some series we've watched umpteen times already>
    ***and repeat

I can see people not getting on with Pluribus, it's an odd premise and quirky to say the least. We enjoyed it and are looking forward to the next series
We re watched the original Night Manager to catch up, and enjoyed series 2.

We have also watched all of Severance, with a feeling of confusion and unease a lot of the time!
It's beautifully filmed and yet really disturbing and does make you think about it after.

Not sure where they will go with it, but it's quality entertainment

    Lol true.

Quite often I'll ask what she wants to watch.
I make a suggestion. She says yeah, but not now.
I make another suggestion. Yeah, but not now.
Me: Ok so is there anything you'd like to watch?
    OH: You suggest something....

My missus is like that with dinner.
Her: what do you want for dinner?
    Me: anything you want.
    Her: like what?
Me: literally anything. I really don't mind.
Her: now you're just being difficult!
    Me: ...?!?
Her: why do I have to decide?
Me: because, if I choose, we get to play twelve rounds of "I don't fancy that, guess again"
Her: see? I told you that you were being difficult.
Me: I'm going to the pub.

If you can cope with subtitles, I recommend (and indeed, have done on here before) Dark if it's still on Netflix.

There was a subsequent series by the same people (not a continuation) called 1899 or similar, that got panned for finishing abruptly and not being renewed, but in honesty, I enjoyed the hell out of it as well and if you squint at it from an angle, you could actually see it finishing where it did on a "what do you think about that then?" cliffhanger.

Can't help with dinner though, unless it's leftovers.

I tried, but 10 minutes into episode 5 and I had to delete it from the planner, an absolute travesty of television.

Oh I did, I most certainly enjoyed it.

I wouldn't characterise it like that.

There's always going to be some element of 'keeping you hooked for next season', but it didn't feel like the sole purpose of this series was just to move on to the next. In fact in many ways, I felt like that last episode was pretty fu-- flippin' climactic. Sure there's a lot unanswered, there's a lot that's left open, but the lore & story of the Fallout universe has been somewhat "open ended" ever since Fallout 2 released in 1998.

The House of Dynamite - ****. Off. /10
Avoid. Avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid.
Laid out in one of those "small section of time replayed from different viewpoints" but the viewpoints revolve around what is essentially a 20min teams call, so there's little to no scope to bring in anything meaningful after the first couple of times round, and then falls flat on it's face.
In a film about a single icbm being launched at America, you never find out if it actually hits and/or detonates. Fuming.

After extending my NowTV subscription for £3.99 a month so my daughter can watch the new season of The Rookie (was due to renew at £9.99 a month) I was looking for something for me to watch. I stumbled across this little heard of old show called The Sopranos. I'm now on season 2 and it turns out it's actually quite good. If I uncover any more unknown gems I'll let you know :hehe:

Must schedule in The Sopranos at some point. The Wire is as cracking series that everyone was right about too.

Working my way through the last couple of series of Taskmaster along with with a bunch of curling which reminds me how much I like it and regret not doing it more often.

On the slow burning Aiden Gillen tip, I just watched Kin (Netflix) for the second time because I was a bit pissed the first time round. Held up to a second viewing.

Dope Thief (Apple TV) is pretty good as a slow builder as well.

Sopranos is a masterpiece, as is The Wire.
