Music What are you listening to?

I didnt think anything could top Sawano's work on Unicorn but im pleasantly impressed with Witch's soundtrack so far, the series however....leaves a lot to be desired.

 

Being a lifelong metalhead, and Ska fan before that, it may surprise some to learn that the only thing I'm listening to at the moment, and for the last 6 months or so, are the artist that are part of the J Cole Hip Hop collection, Dreamville. JID is a master wordsmith with a delivery to match and possibly the best Rapper on the planet right now. Earthgang bring something very fresh and novel to the genre and J Cole himself is no slouch. Denzel Curry is also amazing. The Hip Hop scene has never been so alive as it is right now.

I listen to so much HipHop now that I don't even think I can class myself as a metalhead any more. I am going to see JID live next April and I genuinely can't wait. I haven't been so excited to see an artist since I went to see GnR back in the 80s

 

Puddle of Mudd, Three Doors Down, Three Days Grace, Fenix TX, Alien Ant Farm and generally anything noisy and grungy.

 

Listening to this on repeat.

This was my Christmas gift. No, I don't understand a word of it, but they had me hooked right from the bass intro.

 

I absolutely love Bonobo, definitely give Fink a listen as well

 

Traditional Irish music that's not shite

 

Bonobo is my goto when I don't know what else to listen to. The Fabric Presents mix is a habitual listen as is Black Sands but I love Migration and Fragments. Had Fink on recently unrelated to this thread - Apple Music recently pointed me in the direction of the Cafe Del Mar calm mixes - I'm not sure if they are alternate covers in a long mix but they ARE ambient and chilled that really go well with my bed-time Mary Jane!
