Who would've thought that, in 2024, there would be a brand new album & tour from Deep Purple?

One of the best songs ever made, remixed by one of the best groups ever. I'm loving this version.

wasnt too impressed with their last album nor their remastering of "out of body" but this; this is spectacular.

*edit* I knew I recognised the vocalist from somewhere, its Shaun from LeBrock

Have been feeling somewhat patriotic recently...

My father served in The Falklands during the conflict, so... <shrug>

This is still one of the best versions of this song, but S4C seriously changed the meaning and tone of this song with the translation they chose... This isn't just a football thing, the song dates back to 1983 and the proper translation conveys the feeling a hell of a lot better:
    • "Despite everything any everyone" has a different connotation to "In spite of everyone and everything"
    • "Let the faint-hearted keep on wailing, let the serfs all grovel and fawn" is a lot tamer than "Let the tears of the faint-hearted flow, and the servile lick the floor"
    • "Despite all the furtive connivers" should be "Despite every Dic Siôn Dafydd"
    • "Despite England's might, we're alive" lacks the subtext of "despite old Maggie and her crew"
