i have an epox and im very pleased with it - though aviod the ep-8kha - people have had problems with it gigabyte are very stable boards abit have an excellent mobo out at the moment = kr7a 133 its all down to personal choice at the end of the day.
Whilst the Epox seem to be good boards, I wouldn't buy one yet until they've proved themselves a little more. Abit have been in the big-time for motherboard manufacture a long time, along with Asus and Gigabyte. Whilst the newer entrants into the market (Soyo, Soltek, Epox, Iwill) are capable of building a decent board, I think the more experienced companies produce better products. Gigabyte boards are very stable and solid, but until recently did not offer overclocking facilities. Abit are fast, solid, and have good overclocking capabilities. Personally, I'm not such a fan of Asus' socket A boards (my brother has an A7V), but they've certainly produced a series of good boards in the past (P3V4X, CUSL, TUSL, etc). My choice of new boards would be the forthcoming Abit AT7, although a legacy-free board may not suit everyone (ie no serial, no parallel, no PS/2). Of boards presently on the market, I'd choose the Abit KR7A-133.
Re: but what about 8kha+? i'd say no to that model... its pap for overclocking (wont boot and stuff) their new 8K3A+ looks a SCHWEET board tho
I like my Epox, I've never had a problem with it, and my PC has never locked up in the 2 months it has been running.
ive had 2 abits now (kt7a raid, kr7a 133) and i must say they are the best boards i have ever had!! i really do like em!
EPoX is a good board brand. I have had very little problems with them. It always good though to update your BIOS so thats not a big deal. I just ordered the 8K3A+ today. AMD 2000 VisionTek GF 4 Ti 4600 u know the works. Hopefully u research the products u buy and will pick what works for u.
