Education What cable for extension lead?

    Got several 6 Gang Extension boxes minus cables and rather than get the wrong type could someone advice with a link to the correct cable for a simple extension?

    Yep agreed. 2.5 twin and earth is ideal

    I suggest you go with some 400mm² compressed earth cable just to be safe...

    That's a life saver, can you provide a link to where I might purchase this essential earth cable for my 6 gang extension box?

    Sure, any of the big electrical wholesalers should have it. It's our part number CC400.

    Getting fittings for it are a bitch though so I recommend exothermic welding for any joints you need to make.

    I am concerned that the connection point in both box and the 3 pin plug might be a little small for this cable. Can I get a reducer fitting?:D

    Crimp a terminal on it and reduce down with an appropriate bolt. We could do a welded joint that would go from 400mm² to 2.5mm² I suppose but it would reduce the current handling somewhat.
