I have a CD-RW drive as in sig, but i have a problem. It has a bigass ribbon cable coming out the back connecting to an scsi card in a pci clot at the back, i didn't put this in. It was fitted when the drive was fitted and it is a pain in the ass because it spans across the whole case and looks v untidy and covers a bunch of stuff up on my mobo and it would looka lot better without it. Any ideas on what i can do?? i currently have it folded in half and zip tied but it is still bad  i am gonna order some spiral wrap soon for the rest of thewires but it will look crap with this big lumpa cable in the middle  thanks

    Get a longer scsi cable.

Do the zip tie thing to lessen the cross section, and then route it down the drive cages, along the floor and then upto the scsi card.

It's that or ditch the drive and get an IDE burner.

Or still get a longer one and route it along the panal on the back of the motherboard. If you don't have a hole on the bottom for it, then just take out the trusty dremal and slice yourself a newone.

I would try rerouting, I've heard scsi cables are bad about getting interference when you fold them on themselves.Have you had any burner troubles since you've zip tied them?

    here.
    or here.
    or even here.

thats just 3 minutes worth of poking about on hotbot ...im sure you could probably find more, and closer to you ..

and btw .... the ORB addy in you signature is the wrong one ... right click on the "compare url" and copy shortcut ... the cgi changes it when you click it ...

as i said m8 i hve done mine and it works fine no probs what so ever just go for it mate why buy a round cable when you can do it yourself i cut inbetween the wires with a razorblade just do about 5 or 6 at a time and dont do the cuts next to each other and take your time

well it is ok at the mo, i realised there were 2 connecters on it, one close to the middle and one on the end and it was on the middle one so i put it on the end one which lengthened it adn i have it folded out of the way, i have just bought a round cable for my hdd so i may aswell buy one for the scsi to keep the look going :)
