950 Mhz Duron (Multiplier unlocked) on my new Elite K7S5A, what kind of speed could I get out of this o'c? (My current system does 1.1 Ghz). I've got a Volcano7 for it. Building this box next week, just waiting for my GF2MX400.

    :D

the overclock would mainly depend on how good the cooler is (the one you have got is not a good cooler) and also on how beefy your psu is.

This box (MSI crap mainboard) does 1.1 with the stock HSF...
    250W PSU
(I'm moving all the stuff out of this box lol)
Could I expect around 1.2 on the new box?

    Thanx :D

As far as I am aware, the K7S5A has absolutely no overclocking features without a modified BIOS, so you could be up against it there m8!;)

if the mobo does allow overclocking, i would think you should be able to get about 1200....which is a nice overclock...

the duron is old technology but clocks well....i got my 800 to about 1065 which i found was the maximum it would go...

Got nothing on that link m8! However, I have owned a K7S5A and although it was a very fast and stable board there were no overclocking features in the bios! Just to check this is the same board we are talking about:

    That's the board OK.

Copy and paste it, it should be fine...

Just to clarify: the manual says "You can manually change the CPU clock frequency from the CPU PnP Configuration Option"

Yeah, but i think you may well find that the only options available are 100 and 133!

Not sure that would be a great idea m8! With any overclocking you want to take it slowly. While it may work, it would be a hell of a jump and a jolt on your chip to run as such a respectively high FSB! And with no vcore to change you may suffer problems with stability!;)

    Hmm...

Seems in that manual (but whoever wrote it must be suffering from advanced bad grammar) that it's possible to change Vcore from the BIOS options?
