Who are you? Clarkson? heh. I quiet like the look of some of the skoda's, Owned and made by VW from what i know, so they should be pretty well made, and pretty reliable. Sam
Funk yes!!!! Probably the most fun you'll ever have on 4 wheels for that price!!! MX5 for the win! Edit - And what cars do Brooxy and Da_Rude_Baboon drive? I've found that generally people who make those comments about MX5s firstly know nothing about cars or how to drive them and secondly drive a corsa...
Polo and a Clio - I just don't like the look of MX5 - If I was going to get a 2 seater in that price range, I'd probably look for a MK1 Toyota MR2 Preference is everything. Besides, it was meant in jest...
lol dont get your knickers in a twist it might aggravate your sense of humour malfunction. As stated previoulsy in the thread i drive a VW GT TDI diesel tractor after having to trade in my much missed Type-R.
Granted the type-r is about as good as front wheel drive gets and they are a lot of fun to drive, although the new shape ones have missed the mark somewhat. RWD is the only way a car should be if you plan to drive it. Even Clarkson gives the MX5 the thumbs up, 'nuff said.
Everyone can have an opinion - just because it doesn't agree with you, doesn't mean we are all tools - yes I saw that edit comment. So what if the MX-5 doesn't appeal to me? Also, RWD isn't the only way to enjoy driving - sometimes I drive at normal speeds, just for the pleasure of it. Different things tickle different people's pleasures. Rant over - apologies if I'm a tad out of order - I blame the most soul destroying spreadsheet ever...
I've got a Fabia Lovely car, immensely reliable and the build quality is very good for the most part. Only disadvantage is the steering is more like a city car - very light. I could probably drive everywhere with my index finger. Oh yeah and I would like better brakes. I've got the 1.4 100hp engine, and it has a bite if you don't mind revving it. Can keep up with most of the big boys at the lights without really trying.
MX-5 is a buzz to drive. Getting the back out is a dodle, no weight in the buggers. Fricking ace on a roundabout (ace as in almost wet yer pants) I'd have one in a flash if it weren't for the 2 kids, (que jokes about rear luggage rack seat)
Ahh, my dad had to sell his MR2 when me and my siblings were born, kept his Westfield (the caterham-like one) though; I'm glad about that. Speaking of which I need to remember to learn to drive; I still keep thinking "when I learn to drive I'm going to get that!" forgetting that I turned 17 a month ago. Still need to apply for a provisional licence.
For those who doubt MX5 is for women. (taken at the ring) But then again a lad I know has his slammed 6 inches and well its ever so slightly nice....
No, no, no, you don't understand. Plaster your car in female friendly logos, wait for any friendly females within visual distance to be drawn toward it, then take you pick. It's genius. I'm sticking pictures of puppies shoe company logos on my car tomorrow. I thought the puppies may attract the wrong age range.
Used Acura NSX... Or a used RX-7, I've seen some for pretty cheap, still a wee bit on the high maintenance side, haggling is a must.
