I have an Escort 1.4 and it is a great car as long as you don't enjoy doing some speeding now and then. I will however be happy when it's 75bhp will be replaced next year with something closer to 420bhp... I had a TVR Tuscan S for a testdrive back in October which have similar performance. It took almost a week before the smile started to fade
you know i thionk you all have wwwwaaayyyy too much money & the less siad about koolvins merk the better /me gets beging bowl out
theres only three things I care about in life, Computers, Cars & my gorgeous G/F, ok so I do care about other things too but these things are were I get the most enjoyment outta life! Dont u reckon?
Look Penski and sam I worked in my mates 2.0L Ford Sierra for over a two years (samiel_6 on this forum) with four different ICE installs, Sierra's are front wheel drive. Look at Sierra Online Quote....... ____________________________________ CVH Engine : Seen in the Sierra and Sierra Sapphire in 1.6 (late-1991 onwards) and 1.8 (1987 onwards) capacities. First introduced in the UK in the early Eighties, the CVH first found a home in the front-wheel-drive Fords : it was a mainstay of the Escort range, appearing in 1.3, 1.4 and 1.6L capacities. The Fiesta utilised it too, in 1.3 and 1.6L form initially, but then 1.4 and 1.6L. The CVH engine is of the OHC design, utilising a cast aluminium-alloy cylinder head on an iron cylinder block. If allowed to overheat, cylinder head gasket problems can be common as the head can easily warp. Like the Pinto, the camshaft is driven by a toothed rubber belt, with hydraulic tappets as opposed to the Pinto's solid lifters. ----------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.crustworld.co.uk/sierra/techspec/index.html
Also new Ford Sierras sales ended in April 1993 and the Ford Mondeo started selling arround Feb 1993.
Strange I always thought Sierra's were RWD too. In fact I'm sure I remember seeing one with it's rear wheels spinning coming out of a junction. Could it be that some are RWD and some FWD?
Yep we are infact all correct Adam, sam, penski and I. The old Seirra's using the OHC ("Pinto") Engine were RWD. The pinto had to be droped due to In the mid-to-late Eighties, it was unable to meet strict new emission laws for the nineties so, the CVH engine had to be created. The newer UK models which used the CVH Engine were front wheel drive. I love my rear wheel drive on my Volvo 1.7 it is so much more fun in the snow and ice.
the CVH is a terrible engine hence why fiestas blew goats for many, many years (even though the mk2 xr2 is a vastly underrated car) i spend a lot of time around cars (mostly motorsport ones)...i grew up around them - my dad's family's very motorsport minded and he's ont he committee for the jim clark memorial rally and stuff...and i have never seen a CVH sierra :s the pinto is a damn good engine actually...in a mk2 escort (god, i love them) i'm trying for the hell of me to remember the 4 cylinder cosworth block that a few rally escorts use...fooooook *n
Ford "pinto" engines, and Volvo "pento" (or pinto too) engines are used a lot in marine applications, you can easily get a marine kit for those engines, there's a fibreglass Jeep Wrangler kit in the local scrappies with a "pinto" in it...
we don't get vauhal in the americas.... and fyi it would be a GMC product here in th US if they did have them (which they don't) also on a side note, the early Ford Fiestas in the United States could be purchased with a 3L V6.... that was a rocket....
Vauxhall in America is opel, the american Cavalier was terrible compared the the europe count part. I love some of the Mustangs mmmm Cobra SVT and Firechickens 5.7 v8 nice!!!!! A 3ltr fiesta would be crazy!!!!!
I personally dont dig either of those but its up to you. You should go for a more muscle car. The new trans ams are awesome but you can a good firebird or camaro for cheaper. Thats the kind of style that looks fast and chicks dig.
This is so unfair my dad has a 4wd v6 sierra on the drive but of course there is no way @ 17 i can afford the insurance perfect engine for a self-build and it will beat a pansy corsa off the line even now.. had a unleaded conversion on it aswell would love to drive.. i am considering purchasing an old-ish car ie morris minor etc... tax/insurance is less on these and they look kool!!! would have to be black with an upside down pentagram and a skull gearstick mod! this is the car i most want in the world not this specific one but you know - http://pictures.autotrader.co.uk/ATD_web/servlet/media?id=20936616
Good cars to get: Peugeot 106 : Basically a saxo with different grill and headlights, but not quite as common. Get a quicksilver, looks like the Gti, but without the larger engine. Haven't got the numbers with me but a saxo vts is a higher insurance group than the 106 gti, for the same car with the same engine. Just got a different badge on it. 8-ball
I own a 1.8 MGTF roadster, its 135Bhp very happy with this car, although i did have to wait 2months while the thing got built and delivered to my door. oh yeah i work for a company who are nice enough to pay the 2.5K insurance and cover for me ^_^ its great being 20 and a student with such a nice car. -ƒlamika
