Your an Antec 902 addict arn't you , ok then let the argueing commence, the CM 690 is lighter, has better airflow, costs almost half, has easier to use cablemanagement and is easy to work with (tool free drivebays and expansion slots), spacious, fairly light, sleek and aestetically appealing
That is your personal opinion. I think the Antec 902 is all of those things. 9 Drive bays with full customization of Internal or External. The CM 690 is very tricky to fit water cooling in. Your turn!
, 1.) not many people ever watercool, 2.) ... so what's this then - http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews.php?/misc_content/yoyotech_water_dragon_940/1 Your turn EDIT: The CM690 is lighter... you think the antec 902 is lighter? And you think its tool free? And you think it has better airflow? :O - checkmate
I personally think both the 902 and CM 690 are both equally crap for watercooling without sacrificing internal bays. The CM 690 is designed with the top of the motherboard too close to the top mounted fans which means a decent 120.2 rad dosen't fit all that well. You could throw a single 120.1 on the rear fan mount, but thats pretty much doable in every modern case. The CM 690 dose look nicer than the 902, however i still think that these cases are untidy due to PSU placement. The Antec 902 is dam ugly, the top mounted fan is just ridiculous and ruins the external form of the case. I disliked the 900 due to its looks, but if i had a choice over the 900 or 902 i would be humping th 900 like thiers no tomorrow. Lets face it, on paper the 902 is a very capable air cooling case, same as the CM690 but they both have there flaws which are to big of an issue for me to ever own either. Lian li, hasn't really changed its reciepe of its cases for the best part of 10 year now, except increasing fan mount sizes and the odd tooless design feature. All CM and antec seem to be doing is to be chasing Lian Li quality and design but at some point a 6 year old steps in and ruins the design in some form or another. This is most notable in the mid-range cases. There budget cases are bang on, with the likes of the CM 330 and Antec 300. NZXT cases on the other hand seem to be getting really bloody good balancing most aspects of the overall needs. The panzerbox is probably the best case i have seen for the price. Then there is LanKool which are superb lian li's just made from plastic and steel rather than the more expensive aluminium. And tbh you cant go wrong with one of them either.
Kill joy , and the CM 690 fits dual rads fine if modded, yes the cables will be slighly messy but it has cable clamps for neatness, I'm the first to aknowledge its faults, that's why I don't own one even if it is a great case, for the price - it can't be beat 7 120mm fan bays (3 or 4 of which fit 140mm fans) and 1 80mm fan bay is a bit... evil
Go with a Lancool K58/60/62. Or a Lancool K56, if you don't want top panel fans. Have a look at them here.
Atm, I'm using a laptop as a computer , because my mobo died - read sig, but I'm revamping at Christmas and Its between the HAF 922 and this other very cheaper but nice looking case that I might go for instead... I don't need a gaming rig atm, all I play (played) is WoW and soon I'll get Sims 3 and Civ 4 + maybe supreme commander, and Microsoft Word + Firefox (which can be quite a RAM hog tbh) ... so yer...
hey snap, the exact same thing happened to me lol any way i would buy the NZXT panzerbox it is awesome i love it personally and you can add water cooling to it which i am doing.
when they reviewed the case they removed the side panel so the theremal imaging camera could see inside the case, plus i think they said it would perform better with the side fan attached
Which in your opinion would be the Air-Cooling case to go for? As your views seem to go against some of the usually recommended cases for air...
