Are you set on powdercoating, or could you go for spray paint? Dupli-Color have some great effect paints if you want something a bit more fancy.
Whatever I go for, someone else will be doing it! I like the idea of having some sort of sparkle effect to the outside though. Seen some nice paint jobs other people have done.
