So in the process of building my speakers and should have the woofers by next week but the question is; What colour shoud I do them? Originally I was thinking gloss black but then that's too ordinary, or graphite? But that didn't go with the drivers and so does white. So what colour is it?

Can I have a poll please of Black, Graphite, White, red, yellow, blue, green, brown, other?

Deep blue. I have a thing about deep blue. Those would look badass in dark blue :thumb:

Did you project log the building of them here somewhere?

    Graphite.

If you do it white, you are gay.

Not necessarily, white could look good as well. To be honest, it depends on where they are actually going to be used. If I was making some custom speakers, they'd be designed both for superior audio quality and to match the room or area that they were being used in.

It would really depend on the room they are going in

I've always been a big fan of the blue and yellow color combo

    Dark-burst orange.

Black around the cones, fading into a day-glo orange.

    Pimp! :hip:

Thanks for the suggections, I'll have a think and they will be going on anew desk in my room which has white and grey walls.

And no, I would if it was a little more comlex but at the end of the day all I did is make a box and cut some holes in it! Although I could do a project log of the 12" sub which I will be making next.

OT first: that picture on the background is damn scary.

I like recommending gloss black to everyone as A) it's an absolute pain to paint in the first place and B) shows absolutely all dust. I'm rubbish with colors, dark blue might look nice. Dark red might also be nice. Tannoy has some nice colors IMO: http://www.google.com/images?oe=UTF...8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=742&bih=815

Personally I might actually think of some fabric hoods, mainly as I've found painting wood properly being next to impossible. (my sub was sprayed by a car painter and while the paintjob is perfect, after a few years the edges of the woods have become visible :( )
Also what kinda sub are you making?

Yeh I think I should of not but that pic of me in there tbh!

Not quite sure on the sub yet, I'm thinking of just vented although I would like a 4th or 6th order bandpass but they are just far too big.

How about a passive radiator? I have a Peerless XLS 10" + passive and that setup requires a very small box.

    LUMINOUS ORANGE OR GREEN!

Alternatively, glossy dark blue or red. I reckon a dark gloss brown could work too..

OK, a more serious suggestion now. Stretch leather over them. That would be badass.
