    right, i'm looking to buy an Athie 3500+ (939) and i know there are various cores out there, but which one is the best, is it the venice core i want?
    (i ask becasue i plan to overclock the s**t out of this processor, so its quite important i get the best core)

    The Venice 3500+ is by far the best for its speed... I'm a big fan of the 3700+ San Diego, myself. About $50 more for double the cache. (1 MB instead of 512 K)

    the venice core is the one you want, unless you can stretch to the 3700+ san diego cored chip

    As the 2 above said :) 3500 venice is the best of the chips, unless you can stretch to a 3700 diego :)

    a sandiago 3700+ :D or a 3500+ venice... although if you want it more garanteed then find a good 2nd hand clocker :idea:

    mines at 2.6gig atm, havent really pushed it either yet :)
    theres people on Xtreme Systems with X2's at 3gig+ on phase change and 2.8gig ish on water
    only problem with clocking them is quite often one core won't go as far as the other
