A new surge protector solved my PC tripping the house's electricity, the magnetic dust filter (when in its correct home  ) helps funnel the air much better knocking a few degrees off the cpu and gpu and it turns out the USB hub on my monitor works like a charm.

Just got to mum's. Been at it nine days now. Worst part is I was putting in 12 hours a day, then having to cook clean and do washing. I'm not used to that.

Got up and went to the chemist to get my new anxiety meds. Lovely slow stroll down the high street. Went into JD and bought some lovely Nike winter joggers and a enormous hoodie (only company still making them in the correct size to be massive on you) and then slowly sauntered down to the bench opposite my flat for a chill. Wanted to sit there all day but the rain began.

Was nice to get out. First time I've been outside in 9 days. And my anxiety was manageable and I was chilled.

Going to have a couple of days off, then crack our the Dremel and make me some parts :)

So looking forward to seeing Tre. Woop woop.

    German license plates.

Today I saw one that was "A HO". Which tickled me greatly. The other day was "A BJ"

Cold callers saying they've heard i've been in an accident.

Had about 4 over the past few months.

All I do is ask "Who told you that?" which has resulted in two hang ups, one hold music and one "sorry i'll take you off our records".

Wondering if next time I may go the "Unbelievable! How did you know?!? Just this very second! Are you watching me?" route.

Depends how much spare time I have guess.

I have Indian scammers calling me 24/7. My number is listed as the last person who had the line.

I don't mind. I usually pretend I'm doing what they ask until they ask me to download team viewer. Then I tell them I don't have a computer. Which confuses them, so when they question it I tell them I just love wasting their time.

The Amazon and MasterCard scams I just jump straight to the benchode part.

If more people waste he scammer's time it will cease to be profitable. One of my personal favorites was the time I sat down at my Mac, which was powered off...
"Sir you should see xxxx on your screen"
"No I am not seeing anything. My monitor is off should I turn that on?"
If I recall correctly I had to be instructed to turn on the monitor, and then after that did not resolve the issues the computer. I stalled further with rebooting the modem twice, waiting for a browser update to install, rebooting the computer, asking the scammer to repeat steps, tell me the url over and over as I was getting 401 and 404 errors, plug in the ethernet cable (this after attempting to fix my internet with the modem reboots) and spent 5 minutes getting help to find the windows key on the keyboard... I was amazed that he hadn't hung up before now and it was only the realization I was at a mac that ended the call. Not that I had actually done any of the steps either.

Sadly then seem to have wised up to the Mac trick.

I usually go with "I'm blind why would I have a computer?" Works a treat. Caller ID on the home phone is good you can usually tell when they are coming so I can answer as various things, an internal support desk really confuses them just keep demanding their staff ID so you can log a fault for their them usually works well.

My go to for cold callers is as follows:-

    <1930's BBC accent a la "Mr. Cholmondley-Warner">
I'm terribly sorry old thing, but I don't speak a word of English. Goodbye!
    </accent>

If it is actually a live caller, it's usually just a recording, "bugger off" works for me or, "f#ck off" if I'm in a bad mood!

I wish I had the time to mess with scammers, market research, cold callers etc - I just hang up without saying a word once I'm sure they're trying to sell something / scam me out of something.

I've only had one of the 'microsoft' ones. They get quite wound up if you repeatedly reply "no you're not' when they say they're from MS.

(Background. I had an incident involving my hand and an exceedingly sharp blade a month ago, resulting in a severed nerve and artery and other "structure damage", an operation, a couple weeks in a cast and then copious amounts of physio and sensory therapy. It's fair to say things have mainly sucked hard since then)

I had a rather excellent day today. Almost normal even.
The meds seem to finally be working as my hand hasn't been buzzing and zapping all day.
My body also seems to be tolerating the meds better as I've been able to function, where it's previously been knocking me out.
Which means I was able to try a short drive for the first time.
And I haven't needed any additional painkillers.
And I've even been able to type fairly competently with two hands.

EDIT: And the lack of painkillers means I'm actually HUNGRY for the first time in weeks - and it just to happens to be twofer Tuesday for Dominos.

I get the Microsoft scammers a lot. Lately though it's been a robot telling me my internet is going to be disconnected (because the number is listed on BT website) or that Amazon are charging me for a year of prime (even though I don't have it) or that my MasterCard or visa have been hacked. I don't have either of those.

Funny part is how they think they are all clever and good at English by having the robot say "we are hereby to inform you that etc"

So when I pick up the phone I return the favour and say "I am hereby to inform you that you're a scamming c**t and will probably go to hell".

    That goes down well.

I don't bother answering half the time if I don't recognise the number.

    If it's important they'll leave a message.

I pick up if i'm in the mood for a giggle if it's a real person or if i forget the landline seems to be only for scammers. Or my mum ( pretty much the same really  )
