It's my 34th birthday, given there isn't much to do during a lockdown I have planned it around a bottle of cognac, lighting the fire, and trying to get a decent photo of me and my boy.

Ah, happy birthday, mine was yesterday . I went shopping and played Starcraft 2 - that was pretty much it for the day!

A belated Happy Birthday to you @ElThomsono from BH6! Great pic, lovely fireplace, ours is similar but starting to crack up.
Seems a long time and no time ago that my lad was that size. He's now 20 and 6ft!
Extra points for the rhino BTW :D.

Congrats to you also @Byron C, ElT's 'twin'!

In my defence, it's overdue a tidy...

More desk, an yes thats how it is now post work (work laptop under tablet) and the tablet acts as a second screen.

Also classing it as making my life awesome because I'm really happy with the setup I have now.

That's more like it.. or, at least, a lot more like mine:

That's actually pretty tidy by my standards.

With respect to the tidy desk photo people, I feel like most of those hardly ever look like that, except when they've just been tidied for a photo op; and those that do belong to psychotic OCD nutjobs.

Don't get me started on the few that try and flex by awkwardly cramming in every other bit of kit they're currently proud of... in fact the only pleasure I get from any on that is imagining their mental anguish as they agonise on the perfect balance between "too cluttered" and "maximum tech flexing".

    Too much?

I recently started binning off a load of "crap" so what was on my desk has now been either binned or put away. Plus I have to keep it clear when I do model making, but I'll take psychotic nutjob OCD

Tech Flexing yeah does annoy me the picture perfect setups where they have every fancy bit of kit going on the desk, including a very expensive camera and their phone, which begs the question of how did they take the photo? Though a special place in hell should be reserved for the ones who show off the boxes of said tech. The display shelf of apple boxes you see in some for example.

While we are all at it - this is normal for me - I can't be dealing with clutter whilst working.
