With all the worries in the world, I'm in a really good place after a bit of a strange year. It's almost the anniversary of me deciding to not work for a massive 4r5ehat any more and working for the biggest of them all (me). Sure, I'm still not making enough money to cover the shortfall but thanks to my wife and her 23yr career at the same company, she has been keeping things ticking over while I do a couple of nights a week at a bar, the extra work on various productions and getting the odd commission from the SOHs boss ( https://www.instagram.com/p/CpPJrbqIV51/ ) - who'd have thought my inner pyro would be doing this at nearly 50!? Apparently, I've just had word that she wants to buy other pieces for me to do and then promote them in her fashion showroom to big spending clientele (£1400 for a pair of trousers is a pee in the ocean to these folks!)

But what makes my life most awesome is the kids! Youngest has always been a creative and I don't see any issues with her moving forward apart from worrying about her growing up, going out, wearing all sorts of **** that I don't approve of etc - she's nearly 12!
My son has ADHD and has finally got his autism review which will open up a bunch of help to us which is amazing but the penny has finally dropped for him - up until now, he's wanted to be a Youtuber and basically plays games all the time. However, he's been told he is in the top 3 in his year group for maths and his year ten options for continued learning have opened up - he has been invited to join triple science, computer science and DiT! He is made up and has started to do an hour of research/ revision every day so that he gets a decent grade and wants to go to Cambridge (I have no idea how I'm going to afford that)!

The kid has hyper focus times (usually just before I go to bed) and usually is so passionate about the strangest things - and I love him dearly for it! I'm still wondering how it'll be in the future due to his... shall we say "lack of social awareness"? But my wife and I are buzzing with this recent turn of events! Now I just need to stop procrastinating around all the bloody website admin and just get on with it (ad-words, tags, indexing etc).

This is the only forum I lurk in - I really do appreciate the group and so happy it still exists after the live site went down so thanks to all that makes this place what it is! When I can afford to help towards the upkeep, I will... until then, boring admin or make something new at the workshop? Hmmmmmmmm.......

Oh.... and I used a Dremel for this one... It's not computer related but you guys were the reason I bought one in the first place... https://www.instagram.com/p/CpDAVuqjVe9/

Had a job interview today, thought I'd absolutely flapped it, but apparently not as they've asked me back for a second one. Wasn't looking, quite happy in my current one, but could potentially mean a fair chunk in salary increase plus lots of proper benefits, like sick pay and life assurance.

Interesting day, original plan was to sell my car and purchase the bike, which has now turned into “let’s visit the dealership next week and just buy it and you can keep the car” which has saved me a whole world of messing around and bother.

Just had our annual pay review come through (well it came through last week but I was on holiday which was also awesome), and we have been given up to 7% this time (which I got) which puts me up near £47k.

Add to that, the latest little batch of Kabanossi that I got from Lidl over the weekend is particularly good this time, and today is all coming up Milhouse.

    promotion out of the blue...
13% pay-bump; and move to the better bonus scheme. 12% pa minimum; max 20%.
Only downside is removal of paid overtime :/

When you want to play D2 but also your little Rabbit wants to play:

    :grin::grin:

Works surprisingly well tbh although due to the Series X being my primary console* I had to "slum it" with the Series S and 1080p screen. Ah well both are 60FPS.

*Set to my wife and I can play together with just one digital copy. :)

When I lost access to paid overtime a few years ago I just stopped doing overtime. Probably wouldn't go down well everywhere.

It makes him even more special as he hums away to himself all the time.

The good thing about electronic vehicles is that in the near future you will be able to double its current value by fully charging it!

Passed my motorcycle theory this morning, booked my direct access for the 20th, arranged childcare for my daughter. Checked insurance on the Rocket 3 GT 221 and it’s not even that expensive considering the circumstances, probably should take out some life insurance.

My work did that, and then didn't set it up properly on payroll for 18 months so I underpaid tax :duh:

I just found a lone Jaffa Cake in my bag!!! I thought I had eaten the last one whilst waiting for the service to be finished on the car this morning. But noooo, there was another!!

Proper awesome, although I am now somewhat reluctant to eat it as I know that this one IS the last one...

Use that knife to clean cut it and just have half then you've eaten the last Jaffa cake but still have the last Jaffa cake left.
