OK so joint number two. Pre bong.

Yup. Deffo. I thought it might have been confused yesterday by the fact I took two of mum's 30mg codeines (bad stomach) but I only took some about 4 days ago. The feeling was different to when I get the fuzzies from that, though.

So today I took mine (Co Dydramol) at 10am. I smoked a joint well over an hour ago, and aside from brushing and mouth washing three times after I definitely know the difference. I like it, a lot. Will order another big lump soon. They have another one on sale that is different to what I have now.

I mean crap dude, BITD you only had the choice of what you could get (usually hard hash, AKA rocky) with the occasional red or gold coming through and very rarely pollen slate.

I feel like a kid in a head doctor shop :D

They made it legal in Germany this year. Many of my old friends tried it again after long absence, none of them is back on it big time.

I had a short phase in my life where I smoked more than Cheech & Chong combined, but I always preferred drinking. And once I realised that I did it because it was there/easily available instead of because I liked it, I stopped.

Tried it again a few years ago with a friend at a LAN party, and was left completely underwhelmed (again). Not for me anymore, it seems, but I definitely get the appeal.

This is not like that dude. At all. The active component is THC. This has a trace amount. Being stoned is deffo a young person thing tbh. Well, unless you are a total waster.

I got the email I certainly wasn't expecting this afternoon, but I've got an interview with Network Rail. Super chuffed (pun intended) as I've been trying to get a job on the railways for years now.

So today turned out to be very interesting. Which I was not expecting.

I got up around 9 and went down. I usually watch TV for a bit, wake up a bit, take a dump and then go down. If I go down too early I get bombarded with chores from mum and yeah, I learned to wait until I was like awake.

Today though my ecig needed a new coil and I had been putting it off. So nothing was coming out of it. I did manage to turd before I came down, so at least I could go straight on painys before she started getting me to do stuff.

Any way, what I forgot (wondered what the dirty look was for :D ) was that her hair dresser was coming. Any way, did what I had to and sat down with a coffee. Had a nice chat, remembering stuff from the past. Well mum had a moan about me leaving my CBD out so she had hidden it.......

Any way, we are talking away.... Talking about pain. The hairdresser's husband has arthritis also. He can barely walk now. Any way, she says "Yeah in the morning Steve (her husband) makes tea with cinnamon, turmeric etc...." then she says "And then he takes his CBD oil... By mid day he is alive. Can move, plays darts with my son etc". Blimey.

So I FINALLY got mum to concede in the argument. I have bought her some capsules. Which is awesome, because tbh she needs it more than any one I know.

Rental contracts have come through so stage two is a go. New landlord seems decent and no faffing and easy about contract length.

Stage one being selling the house which is going ahead still at the moment (no chain).

Stage three will begin, which will be house hunting north of the border, once we have had chance to sit down in the rental.

Funny thing was those contracts came through the same day the agents of our first viewed property got back in touch.

My OH had driven up to see it over five weeks ago and we'd heard nothing. Then we get an email saying we'd being 'chosen' and the landlord wanted to meet.

WTF? All very odd. Very odd indeed. No thanks.

E: Bonus. Fibre broadband at the rental.

Took the car to the broom broom hospital for a checkup* today, so I took the day off to get a few other things done.

I finally got a god damned network cable in through the lounge wall!

It’s almost as if having the right tools for the job makes the job easier…

But speaking of tools… I left my damn hammers at my mother’s house and now I need to knock in several dozen cable clips.

    God… ****ing… damn it.. :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

I’m gonna do this today if it’s the last damn thing I do, so… Fine. Biggest wrench I own should do it.**

*It’s at the garage for a service & MOT

**And I can always jump on the bike and go to B&Q if I need to

    Fine… Bike trip to B&Q then…

The plumber came. We had this like, analogue tap thing. It was like one lever, and left and right meant cold or hot, then you pulled it upward to get water. Due to the water here? it was horrible. Kinda like when the N64 sticks used to eat themselves inside and go all stiff and juddery. Problem was you could not moderate the flow of the hot water at all. So it was on or off. Annoying when all you want is a small dribble for say, wet sanding.... *whistles*. Obviously my mum does lots of that :D

So yeah, I bought her new taps. Not only that, but taller goose neck ones so you can remove the sink bowl without moving them miles over, and mum can fill her water bottle in the winter without squashing it in half.

All done. I got them on Amazon about a month ago, he charged £45 to do it. So much better. I can have cold water now without feeling like I am controlling a bloody crane ffs.

Passed with flying colours, again. The only advisory noted on the MOT was that the fuel cap seal is starting to perish. That’s a £5 part I can do myself…

It’s tempting to pick up a couple of ramps and start servicing it myself.

A girl walked to the store this morning, bid me good morning and handed me one of these:

She had a tub, full of them. I guess she was just wandering around town, handing them out.

    It made me smile.

Had a day at the forge as a present to make a knife.

    Started with something like this:

    Gave it some heat:

Then a bit of hitting, then some more heat:
    repeat:
    then out comes this thing:
Bit of normalisation (not pictured), then a bit of grinding:
then heat treating / quenching (again not pictured) to harden and some more polishing / sharpening:
brand new BBQ knife all sorted!

Was a great day and really nice to come out with something useful and usable to remember it by.

Car booked in for a service this coming Friday. Usually I have to book at least a fortnight in advance - I can tie it up with working from home for the day, which is awesome.

Though I imagine I'll be posting in one of the two other threads when paying.

Further to the 'meh' thread removal quote one, quote two came back today over a grand cheaper and another two hundred cheaper if we don't take their insurance.

May not be any point in that because their insurance doesn't cover things packed by customers and home contents may cover that. Dunno, will have to check.

Plus they'd do it in one day, not two.

    Much better.

Isn't funny how the universe works sometimes. Bizarre goings on yesterday with an interview I was meant to have this morning. First I get a call to say can it be on teams as the manager is ill, then get a call later in the afternoon to say the interview is cancelled, but they'll let me know if they go "back to market" with the role. Odd.

I had a call penned in with a recruiter about another job this afternoon, which talk him through my CV, how I got into accounting, then treasury, why I moved away, why I went back into the pants treasury role i did after just missing out on a decent job elsewhere, the hernia shenanigans, operation phoenix, the pit of despair and current contract work for people with souls. Talked about what kind of role I was looking for, then talked about the role he had, pretty much a perfect match. Finally get round to who it's with, it's only the same company (and position most likely) that I narrowly missed out on some 7or8 years ago. This makes me much excitement, but need to not get complacent or cocky just because of previous interview performance.
