We use a Dutch web application to register or hours for work (I work for a company with HQ in Rotterdam). Apparently, that system cannot handle the German system for public holidays, namely different public holidays per federal state.

This lead to a conversation between me and our HR manager about additional days off appearing in my work registration tool that I shouldn't get because they are not actually public holidays in the federal state I live (and work from home) in. His reply: enjoy them. I can't remove them without too much hassle for myself. If at some point one is missing for you, you'll need to apply for a holiday. You win some, you lose some.

Why is that in this thread and not the other one? Because I now have 3-5 additional days off every year. Thanks, HR manager, for being against manual work.

We bought a new pane of glass (double glazed) for the conservatory door with a hole for a catflap pre-cut, cost about £180 fitted around 5 or 6 years ago, kept the original glass in the shed. Any competent glazer cab sort it easily.

Just decide which cat flap you want to use as different makes have different hole size requirements.

 

My ex had a bit of double glazing made for a conservatory door with a circle the size of the cat flap that wasn’t ridiculously expensive. Think it was under £300 all in, which included taking out the old and fitting the new glass.

 

Also the local wildlife population will thank you for not releasing a pair of deadly predators

I absolutely adore our (not so) little furry idiot, no chance in hell I'd risk ever letting him out. Scooping & sifting litter 3-4 times a week is a small price to pay when the alternative is to risk poisoning, injury, death...

I mean... would you risk letting this adorable little idiot come to harm?!

 

Yeah ours would always be back by bedtime and had a litter box indoors.

She only stayed out all night one night when we lived in NZ and came back all sheepish with a banged up tail.

No idea if she fell out a tree or had an argument with a possum but none of us wanted that repeated.

She never really wanted more than an hour or so out a day to be fair, had it too cushy indoors.

 

Years a go our neighbours deaf cat took us on as surrogate owners. Adorable little white fluffball.

Wish they'd let her stay with us as she was around most of the time then got run over shortly after they moved away with her.

 

Yeah I'm not sure where they moved to, must have been busier. Shhe was mainly in the back gardens or our house, the only time I saw her out front was when she saw our car and would jump on the bonnet and try and get in the window.

Neighbours looked a bit peeved but cats choose who they choose.

I think she liked being out of their house, they had a dog and two hearing cats so I imagine being deaf you'd like a less busy place where you're not surprised every two minutes.

Anyway, when do we get new fluffball pics?

Mavolio destroyed an ordinary scratching post in just a few weeks, when he was only a few months old but, has had this for 2 years and, still in good condition.
