Geeeez, I had a Matsui, the remote control had a turquoise power button, which was an advanced feature at the time.

    Feels good to fix things.

Can of Pepsi with lunch was unexpectedly warm - one zone of the drinks cooler was not cooling. Took it to bits, did some poking and testing, hypothesized that the thermostat was duff, swapped it with another zone to confirm and a £5.64 thermostat is winging its way right now. Thus saving £194 on an engineer callout or vastly more on a new fridge.

This should be in “The Other” thread, since your reward for fixing something that was broken was being able to drink Pepsi

I spent yesterday at a roughly 100 people event for the industry I work in (cargo railway) as part of the hosting team. I had a speaking slot together with one of our clients, moderated a group discussion and presented the results, was then asked to be part of the podium discussion at the end. By pure chance, I ended up in the position to give the closing statement of said discussion.

Overall, it was a huge success for the company I work for and the other partners. For me personally, I did something I love (talking in front of people) with people who are interested in what I have to say about things I'm very passionate about (the industry, its future challenges and chances, and change management in projects). After sleeping less than 4 hours and spending 2.5 hours on a train trip home that should've been 1 hour, I'm very tired but very happy.

I legitimately can't tell if that's something like an SNL skit or a "real" artist.

Ooh, you're one of today's 10,000! It's real, but also not: making the music video was a gift from her dad, using a vanity label which wrote the song and produced the vid - but with the Blacks retaining ownership. It cost $4k, which will have been covered within about the first hour of everyone spreading the YouTube link around to mock it. Turns out ironic eyeballs pay the same ad-view rates as sincere ones!

YouTube's most viewed video of 2011, fact-fans! Hit 58 in the US chart, too, and 60 in the UK. (No. 1 for 2011 in the Heatseeker's Song Chart, based on Nielsen BDS airplay data.) 2013's follow-up Saturday (yeah, I know) hit 55 in the US, didn't chart in the UK. Nothing else has charted, though she was nominated for an MTV O Music Award in 2011 and a Libera Award in 2022, and won the Teen Choice Award for Choice Web Star in 2011.

Its oddly compelling. I had to let it finish, which is more than I can say for a lot of music.

"After Friday, comes Saturday... and then its Sunday"... man that speaks to my soul.

I mean, I very much enjoy Daft Punk's Around The World (charted at no. 1 on the US Billboard Dance Club chart, 5 on the UK singles chart), the lyrics for which are... er, the title. Repeated... 144 times. (I counted, made easier by the lyrics being grouped into "verses" of four lines in which the title is repeated twice.)

And yet I've never made it to the end of Friday...

    You have no shame.

When I come to power, callbacks like that will be met by summary execution.

Titanfall 1 is back online... again. The player counter is bugged and always shows 0, but there's actually a bunch. I swear Titanfall 1 fans are like cockroaches.

I'm closing on being done with the two new glowsticks. The little one even fits inside the big one! Why yes, that is what she said.

It was already worth it. Just one opening of the packet and sticking my nose in there and taking a very deep sniff took me back 30 years. I have literally not smelled that smell since 1995.

Going to knock up a dooby later.

I have had a few bits and pieces from Hempelf and they have in general been pretty good. I did get some cheap stuff on my last order that wasn't great (as expected) although it did smell rather nice. I also got a pre-roll from them as well, I shall have a look to see if I still have the tube, and that was awesome, so much oil came out as it burned that the tip ended up being almost greasy.

Now it didn't do anywhere nearly as much for me as the "leaded" stuff with regards to pain management, but it certainly wasn't bad although I was hoping for more. Still going to be looking into a proper medical prescription as I would qualify for that having been on 2 pain medications for a while.
