Holding shitty landlords to account isn’t being evil, it’s getting shitty landlords to either stop being shitty or stop being landlords. That alone makes it worthwhile, if you get any financial recompense out of it then all the better.

Oh its like shooting fish in a barrel. Said fish being a goldfish stuck in the actual barrel of a gun

My best guess is a bunch of RROs and basically ignoring whatever pile of legislation requiring right to rent checks being the Big Ouchies

Could say so. LL decided to skimp on heating for this winter so turned down heating and locked the boiler cupboard... I don't think 45 degrees for heating loop is fine

Mould in below photo didn't exist, at least visually, back in September. House is probably learning to walk right now

Found a handy-dandy tool for automatically paginating PDF files so they can be printed as a folded booklet (or as signatures for assembly into an actual book):

    booklet.jpg

Only took me three goes to figure out which way round-and-up the paper has to go back into the printer for the reverse sides...

    EDIT:
Oh! Forgot to mention what the software is: Boomaga. It works great, which is just as well 'cos its author abandoned the project in 2019...

Yup - ATD RAM expansion card for the IBM PC/XT/Portable and compatibles. Found a low-quality scan of the user manual online, tidied it up in ScanTailor, and made a little booklet!

Now I just need one of those long staplers so I can reach the middle...

I'll have to bookmark this, I have so many old ISA cards and little curiosities that could do with having some sort of documentation stored with them. As much as I don't want to turn my house into a museum.

Had new double-glazing fitted yesterday & today. Everything except the front door has been replaced, including the patio door. I've spent three days re-arranging rooms & packing stuff out of the way, and we still can't let the cat in the lounge for a few hours while the new sealant sets (to the touch, it won't properly cure for another 12hrs or so at least).

So why is this in awesome and not runing or meh?

Because the landlord put their hand in their pocket and I didn't pay a penny.

Not exactly awesome, but a bit of Isomorphic Synchronicity...
My car needed an oil top up after checking it the other day, so I added a litre of oil to my list.

I stopped off first at the PPE shop and when I went to drive off, got a nearside dipped headlight bulb warning.

Fearing for the worst for my wallet, as it's a Xenon bulb, I went round the corner to the motor factors for oil and a bulb.

The bulb was only £35, which was about half what I expected, so it and the oil were less than a bulb.

Oil topped up ad new bulb fitted before dark. Thankfully the nearside bulb is a lot easier to change than the driver's side and doesn't need the air intake pipe removing

Given the way some modern cars are, you were lucky not to need to remove the front bumper...

There's some kind of shady conspiracy going on - I had a Ford Focus, where you had to remove the whole headlight unit just to replace a bulb. On modern cars, you either need the hands of a 4-year old girl (on end of the arms of a 6ft man) or to dismantle half of the front end just to replace the bulb.
Perhaps it's a way of driving people back to the dealership to get their bulbs replaced at massive rip-off dealer prices?

Conversely, though, changing rear bulbs seems to have got easier - most of my recent cars have convenient hatches and easy access to the rear light clusters...

Not just modern, my trusty 08 Civic, remove wheel arch to change indicator bulb!!
No real workarounds and I have medium size hands and do regular mechanic and services on the side with my dad (one person cut a flap in the arch).

No idea the cost in garage but that would be a lift job and wheel off for ease of access at a garage
