And a football team that will be in the second tier for the first time in my life

 

I still have so much going on in my life that's bad; divorce from hell (three years running); unfinished home remodel (delayed in part by divorce); struggling business; I live in country that elected thrice felon, Trump to office for a second term.

But my new girlfriend and I are about to celebrate the second anniversary of our first date and she's amazing. I'm also not modeling a bad relationship for my kids anymore. They get to see what something really healthy looks like.

My kids are awesome. I've seen so much of the mental and emotional work I've done over the past few decades really start to pay dividends in the types of conversations I get to have with my kids. I know I'm the safe, sane parent and am so grateful for that.

I know this really tough chapter will end someday. It could theoretically get worse, but odds are it only gets better from here.

 

Not "awesome" necessarily, but made me chuckle...

Just had a couple of very relaxing hours sitting out on our bedroom balcony. It was surprisingly mild with almost no breeze.

 

Summer flights booked so the worse that can happen is the orange fool causes them to be cancelled.

Actually cheaper than last year, not by much but surprising nonetheless.

 

Our fridge is filled with the fine smell of good quality, strong, mature, Cheddar cheese.
