Indeed! I was in Jersey for two weeks in July about 4 years ago and it was mid-high 30's every single day. I pretty much spent that whole holiday in the pool, the sea or air conditioned shops :D That was too warm, although I still liked it better than the rain and cold of NI ;)

Some people handle it better than others. My workshop is 16-20 degrees pretty much all the time unless the big machines are running, so in yesterdays 30 degree heat, it was nice to be out in it one minute and back in the cool workshop the next :)

My room is on the top floor of the house though, and the house is extremely well insulated. Today it was unbearable up there with my PC running. It barely makes a difference, but I have had every window and door on the top floor jammed open for the past 3 days and nights!

Also, my car has decent air conditioning which operates at about 14 degrees. Every car should have it. It's days like this that make me wonder if removing the A/C from the GT4 (to save weight and engine bay space) will be a good idea or not. I'm told it can get pretty hot at the ring in summer time :worried:

I had 32 stationary on mine yesterday which dropped to 30 after I started driving. Today the highest was 28 stationary/26 moving.

I absolutely love mojitos! You'd better have lime! There's something... wrong... about a lemon mojito.

Finally got my Z77 setup re-installed (third time, failing drives) and it at least feels to me better than the P67 (could be that 16 GB of memory vs 4) but the boot time is significantly faster as well (no more RAID.)

I'll post the other half of my impressions in the relevant thread.

The company who gave me a 30$ dollar e voucher to spend on there store also gave me another suprise

i wanted to upgrade from traktor le 2 to traktor pro 2 but it cost 90$ so the voucher was'nt close to covering it after not noticing the small print.

I got an email today with a code saying i could upgrade it for nothing...

Such an amazing company no wonder everybody loves there service and products when they give you so much for just registering a product not even close to the same value in gifts...

Building a new portable stereo which requires me to use a manual sander and plane to finish the rough edges left by my circular saw. It's quite refreshing to work with wood just using my hands and a simple tool. In addition to the refreshing feeling it is also quite decent workout in this heat and my hands could use some callus instead of the baby-finger keyboards hands I have at the moment.

Had an amazing weekend! The hangover is horrendous but I got to see a mate I hadn't seen in 4 years.. and ended up getting with her, which proved interesting!

Man, I want this weekend to happen again!

I like the way you think. :thumb:

Last week was miserable weather, so we test-drove our Victorian fireplace and had sardines tostiera with a nice dry white in front of it. Afterwards my wife made lasagna for dinner. She makes her own pasta for it. She also made an awesome chocolate and almond cake which we had with vanilla ice cream and our home-made limoncello.

This weekend we found that the bees have been making good use of the weather, and we have nearly 20 jars worth of honey on the comb already. The hive is also crowded so we are setting up a second hive to split the colony. No time for making gnocchi this weekend but we have a long weekend coming up!

Got a few quarts of blackberries to pick and put up.

Also, just pulled the trigger on Apogee Drive II #1, or damn close to it. Was on the site within minutes of it being up for sale. Knight's Rest can progress!

My car is sorted and back on the road. Managed to salvage some of the weekend's plans after all. Even though I am not a huge fan of the heat, it was nice to get out and about and see friends etc.

We live with the inlaws, they keep bees too. I noticed they have been out in force recently. Last year was their first honey harvest. We got a couple of jars, it tastes so much better than the store bought stuff.

That's why we started (and the honey is a nice bonus). There are about 50 hives in the suburban area where we live; 12 are owned by a friend, I know of a few others who own two hives; the rest are single hives dotted all over people's back gardens. It's getting surprisingly popular here in Birmingham.

The shop bought stuff has been heated to keep it from crystallising on the supermarket shelves (honey needs no preserving techniques --it will easily last for a few thousand years --literally). This process destroys all the floral essential oils. Honey straight from the hive has a complexity and depth that has to be tasted to be believed.

Birmingham is an amazingly green city (check out Google satellite view). Lots of pockets with wild meadow, abandoned orchards (if you know where to find them, there are entire free harvests of apples, pears and plums), parks and of course lots of gardens with a wide variety of flowering plants. Bees thrive in urban areas.
