Listening to Rhydian trying to put on motor bike body armour that doesn't fit via mumble.

highly amusing LOLing at his rage after punching himself in the face.

Windows 8 for free from my works licensing center account, I am going to test this out when I come home from work.

Prepare yourself for an experience more frustrating than attempting to open blister packaging with a spoon.

How come you say that? I have Windows 8 both on my home laptop and my work computer and have experienced zero problems.

It's not that there are any technical problems with it or that it doesn't work. It just seems that whatever I want to do requires several more clicks and diving into different menus and interfaces to accomplish. It's a needlessly fiddly solution for desktop users and there is no good reason for them not to include an option to disable the Metro UI for those who just want to use the old style start menu.

I haven't used it extensively mind you, only for an hour or so after I upgraded my mum's laptop from Vista. The ironic thing is that it's supposed to make it easier to use for those less technologically inclined but in my experience they will find it harder and more complicated to use coming from previous Windows versions. It just makes no sense and seems like they did no user testing on it at all.
