The second one was my instant fav. But after looking at them both in more detail the first one is brilliant! Love the teeth at the front, i didnt spot them until my 2nd or 3rd look for some reason.

Work is awesome. My new job is great and I'm getting positive feedback. All in all things are looking good. Just need to do more with the hours that I have available in the day and get some sales and things would be truly brilliant. As it is I'm happy with the way things are going.

I have been asked to evaluate the lightning protection requirements for a particularly iconic London building, Battersea Power Station.

Most of the time I get unimportant looking office blocks and the occasional block of flats to look at but every so often a building comes along which reminds me why I love being an engineer.

 

You must arrange it so that one of the chimneys has a very tall aerial which ends at the top of the chimney, and the other has a lightning rod that starts at the top of the chimney and leads to earth, and that they are arranged so that lightning always strikes the aerial and then jumps between the tips of the chimneys on its way to earth, like a gigantic Jacob's ladder.

 

Each of the chimneys is going to have 2 rods on it which will lead down to a grid of conductors spaced in a 5m x 5m mesh over the roof of the station then down to earth rods at every 10m interval around the perimeter. There's going to be a LOT of conductor.

The Jacobs ladder would look awesome but unfortunately the stacks are just too far apart.

Making my life rock right now:
planning a new bit of ink (for possibly end of the year) in bright colours, featuring (so far): Fire, Water, A prancing horse, a Raging Bull, a Eurofighter, a guitar and POSSIBLY a Prince Valiant and Lego.

 

My new longbow. Terror of the small critters of the yard, I am (mostly because said small critters are tasty and I want to eat them.) Need some flu-flu arrows. (Before making fun of the name, look them up.)
