Sorry, you're going to have to clarify this for me. How do you sell a weapon from a computer game?

That does absolutely nothing to clarify it! How did you sell a weapon for a game? Is it an in-game additional purchase? What box did you open to sell it? I'm so confused right now

Every now and then in games like TF2, CSGO, DOTA2 and a few others, you get item drops [the game gives you an in-game item], certain items can be sold on Steam's Community Market for proper money [Technically steam credit of which Valve and the Game Devs get a small slice], and certain items sell for silly money. Some of these items come in to form of crates/boxes, some [most] you have to buy/trade a key to open, some [usually those given out as part of a promo] you can just 'open' to receive some random in-game item.

Blizzard also did something similar in Diablo III with the Auction House, though iirc they canned it not so long ago.

Hopefully that's a little clearer... though 'I opened a box that doesn't really exist, which contained a fictional item [that doesn't exist] and sold that non-tangible item for £40-odd' would yield WTF reaction from most people...

Usually get similar reaction when trying to explain what Bitcoin et al. are...

Since having my fallout with my group of friends during halloween I don't have to worry about any BS or anything for new years, unlike last year which was a big hastle and they left me hanging. I plan to spend the night drinking and playing video games with some of my other friends, spending some time with my family, and more drinking and video games! I've really gotten over the whole fallout thing in the last few weeks and I feel much better about the whole situation / being on my own more. Only way I can make myself better is by getting away from them, which is exactly what I've done.

Some of the amounts people will pay are insane. A guy I went to the International 3 with sold a player's signature, a fictional item that is used to display a person's name on the description of another fictional item, for $400 via the Steam Market. Probably could have gotten more via private trading sites. Bought me a War Thunder pack with some of the proceeds. :D

BT infinity being installed right now :D can't wait to be off crappy Virgin Media.

I know for most people its fine. Gaming and general usage but here its terrible and as soon as its fixed it starts playing up again.

Should have 76down and 19up or up too that. The exchange is right across the road from me so should be a pretty fast line.

Standard (though old and not very good) phono inputs, standard (though old and not very good) speaker terminals/posts. Thing is, my interconnects will not for whatever reason actually fit onto the phono's, a cheap crappy phono cable will, but not my nice shielded cables, its like rather than the phono ports being tubular and straight like modern ones, they taper a bit and are wider at the bottom than the top, on the rubbish phono cable I have this causes the outer ring to open a bit, I think it's intentional though as It holds the cable in place well, but on my big shielded cables, the ring has no play, it will not expand at all. I have put sound through it and it works, but I need to change the phono ports and the speaker terminals before I can really get any use out of it. All the valves glow, the magic eye valve is particularly cool if listening to radio as it glows an aquamarine sort of colour like this:

Visibly all the caps are fine. Life before decent circuit boards looks alot less fun than moden day life, it's bonkers inside the control box. The transformers all seem to be decent and working too. It's just a bit oily and rusty on the inside. I have never seen this before in my life, and I've known my grandad for 28 years, so I can't imagine it's even been out of his loft much my whole life time, except when he moved house, and then I imagine it got moved from loft to loft.

    So things to do immediately:

    Speaker terminals
    Phono ports
Some caps, mainly the bigguns, mainly just for fun

but in terms of in's it has an aux, has a tape record out but no monitor return, then there is some funny returns for what I think is called an mdx decoder (?) something like that, as the AM radio is stereo, but the FM radio is just mono, unless you plug in mdx decoder (I need to check that's what it's called) and then you can have stereo FM radio. The AM and FM both work fine too. It's a shame that the magic eye doesn't do a great deal when feeding through the aux channel.

Only because $400 is the maximum you are allowed to sell anything for on the community market. IIRC someone was offered $5000 for one of the rarest TF2 hats and declined.

Congrats MrDomRocks. We found Virgin Media to be a bit rubbish too (even their fibre optic offering in Cardiff city centre seemed temperamental - sometimes slow, frequent outages etc). Changing to BT Infinity has been great. We've had no issues at all; higher speeds, and for a lower price.

    On their slowest package:

your speeds are all way higher than my little 16Mbit but your usage and average usage are poor, it's like you're hardly trying!

That's about normal for our 60Mb/s service with Virgin. I wish they'd up the speed on the upload like they initially said they would but hey, we manage.

    Agreed.

This should be in the speedtest thread.

This makes my life awesome, because once my delivery arrives I will have all I need to stream. Just waiting on frame/chroma green screen to arrive.

There's nothing more relaxing than a glass of moderately good tea and some Nutella roasted almonds late in the evening.
