First unlimited connection out here, 6m U-Verse has been ordered. It is finally available here, at the end of 2014. Finally getting off capped cellular connections. I can't wait for it to get installed.

BT have finally started installing the fiber cabinet to supply us. And to top that off I managed to get 'The Farm', 'The Cave', and The First Night' Minecraft Lego sets for my Daughters Christmas present directly from Lego, Not paying ridiculous eBay prices here thankyou!

Had a quick 2 minute pre-screen interview today, and have a second full phone interview scheduled for Thursday. It's something!

    Exactly.

I respect the fact that you generally remain positive during your hunt for work :)

At this point I'm quite disappointed that 90% of the companies don't even reply with a "we've selected someone else" generic e-mail. I'm also ready to start working, so gotta be optimistic and look for the positive. I want to really start being more responsible for my own life, and the start will be finding a decent job, and getting my license. I want to help out with bills around the house, and such.

Passed the two exams I sat in November.

    Time to relax for Christmas!

Just had my phone interview, think it went well. They'll contact me later tonight if I was successful to give me details about going forward.

From what the woman interviewing me said, if I am successful it won't start until the new year, but it's 3 months of training that is unpaid (but I get 3 industry standard certificates), than a 2 year contract with one of their clients. They have a 91% hire rate following the 2 year contract, and they represent some rather large companies in Toronto. 3 months unpaid training for the certificates and a guaranteed 2 year contract is reasonable. Let's hope I hear back from them today!

Edit: Already got a reply and I've "passed" the phone interview. They'll contact me to move forward, but from my understanding, in the new year I'll go down to their headquarters for the day, write a few aptitude tests, and 2 more interviews (one with the person who does the placements, one with the instructor). I'm super excited! Still stressed about the job / if stuff doesn't go well, but it's a nice relief just before Christmas. Once I get more info I'll have a few questions about the aptitude tests, to see if there's anything I can freshen up on in preparation, I really want this.

    Double edit: Congrats Lance!

Cheers mate, finally with my feet up on the decking looking through the trees upon Dunedin and out to the sea. Think I'm going to like it here once the daze and confusion leaves after arriving yesterday... Delirious limey is delirious.

The land of the scarfies :)

Cheers mate. It already put a smile on my face just watching Peter Jackson in the Air NZ in-flight safety demo. So where does a newboy pick up his pc components from in NZ?

To top off the awesome news we already have someone lined up to look around our place back home for rental. :thumb:
