My wife did the same with her Windows Xp certification a few years back and one of the company directors kept a copy of the certificate in his briefcase to show off to potential new clients...

If you're using Solidworks in school, you should be able to take the same exam, ask the teachers.
I went to MySolidworks.com/training (I use SW at work so had a login)
Last month the "prep" lessons for the CSWA exam were free, and if you passed all 44, you got a free voucher for the exam (usually $99).

The exam really needs double monitors, as you have to run the question software and SW at the same time.

MINI dealership wanted $1000 to replace a failed turbo oil supply line. I spent $100 in parts, $30 for a torque wrench, $100 for a service manual, and about $50 for new oil and did the job myself. I really don't know anything about automobile engines, so I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was. time consuming, but easy.

The repair is done, and I saved a few hundred dollars in the process. Go me.

New Mongolian bow, and I can string it myself. That's a HUGE deal when it's roughly 120# at your draw weight.

I'm tackling the rear shocks, toe adjust bolts and the centre exhaust gasket on the Celica tomorrow along with the front brake discs and pads on my next door neighbour's Fiesta. Should be fun...

Some very scary medical symptoms. GP gave me 2 weeks til appointment and likely the same again for referral. Wife's advice was to go to local MIU and point out the pain as well as the symptoms. So I did.

Seen within 10 minutes. CT scan + full gamut of blood tests and given the (relative) all-clear within 3 hours of arrival. I will need treatment, and that will take time, but I'm not going to explode. This is a good thing.

My worn Func MS-3 started playing up, random disconnections and such, finally traced it back to a dodgy section of cable only an inch or so from the mouse itself.

Broke out the soldering iron and wire strippers, cut out the iffy section of cable then did a horrible job getting all the wires connected properly, and by some miracle; it works perfectly. I'm feeling mighty chuffed that I actually managed to sit down and fix it, rather than shelling out £50 for a new one.

I know that if any unfortunate soul has to do the job again, though, they'll be cursing my name for how badly everything is soldered and my liberal application of tape, however.

Tracked down Lady Amherst pheasant feathers for my new arrows. Built a ban zhi, though I still haven't found a new waterblock for this beast. My pelt block would overwhelm the PSU.

Got in touch with Func support a few days ago over my MS-3 having had a dodgy cable, promptly forgot all about it after I cracked the mouse open and fixed it myself - Turns out that they're willing to send me a new USB cable, and new teflon feet, for free.

This mouse is over half a year outside of its warranty, can't say I'll complain, though.

Indeed, its usually the labor that makes up the majority of the bill! My GF had her VW Polo worked on and the labor was £45ph!
