Right with you on that one. Once I'm on the plane and we're ready to go then I relax and start looking forward to the best bit - sitting at the end of the runway with the brakes on as the engines come up to full speed then the acceleration.

I can remember abseiling out of a helicopter at Culdrose in Cornwall. I love flying in anything from gliders to planes and from hang glides to parachutes. Those were the days.

A beautiful warm spring day up here in Edinburgh. Just had a cup of coffee whilst sat in the garden on my favourite chair with my cat at my feet. For a short while all's well with the world.

The weather here this past week has been absolutely stunning. Blue skies and very light winds. Perfect for getting a silly amount of farm work done. Girlfriend is on the way down and I've just installed a Velux black-out blind and it works unbelievably well!

It's been two years and a couple of months since I quit, and despite what they say, you still miss it.

So many happy memories associated with hungover weekend brunches followed by a couple of hours of lounging about with coffee and deathsticks.

Oh yes. I still love smoking even though I now never do it.

I suppose im quite a lucky one where I can quite happily go weeks without smoking unless I choose to.

After dinner or after a strong coffee are my two vices

5 years since I gave up my 40+ day habit. Love the fact that I now have a lovely looking man cave/bedroom which is mainly white instead of a uniform yellow. But do I still miss a'***' on occasion? You bet I do.

Started a new novel. Hopefully I can get what's in my skull on the paper without a shotgun.

A nice pot of tea, with home-made scones with home-made jam. On hand-painted 1930's Aynsley china of which we found a huge, nearly complete set for a song in a small antique shop.

It's a nice break in an afternoon of modding. :)

Makes the McDonalds breakfast I just ate look like pet food. Come to think of it, that taste...

Very soft goat's cheese instead (in the bowl). It is low in fat, yet quite creamy and has a subtle tangy taste that contrasts well with the jam.

(My genetic hypercholesterolemia means that I have to be careful with saturated fats. For you, on the other hand, I imagine clotted cream needs to be part of your staple diet. The less you can eat orally, the higher the calorie content).

Been working over in Italy for the week.
So between meetings and note taking for our June meeting when everyone comes to visit Cornwall, I've been wandering through Rimini and Bologna in the sunshine. Couldn't have asked for a better week of weather to go exploring.
