    Got a loan!

A week from today I'll be heading into Exeter, Newton abbot and then plymouth for my next car.

Been looking forward to this for years, narrowd down to vauxhall corsa. I drive a 1999 vauxhall corsa so a 2011-2012 corsa is going to be a pleasant upgrade.

Vxr, SRI body styling with 58-67mpg 1.2-1.4 engines, low tax and low insurance what more can I ask :)

Jaipur IPA. I don't know what they did with the hops in this beer but it's absolutely delishytastic. If you like hoppy beers, you simply must try one (in the UK you can get them from Waitrose for about two and a half squids a bottle).

Car sounds awesome, but why have you got a loan?

Haven't you only just started/got stuff arranged to start your job?

I can't imagine insurance is too cheap with the body kit being non standard for a 1.4?

I was kind of implying maybe he shouldn't start spending money he doesn't have.

Life: you're doing it right. :thumb:

Yesterday checked my beehives and put the first supers on. There is nothing like the smell of wood smoke from the smoker mingling with the smell of flowers and wax in the hives, as the bees drone soporifically in the sunshine.

Today upgraded the gibs on the saddle of my lathe from the crappy factory-fit iron ones (which are brittle, rough and warped) to home-made brass ones which are perfectly straight and polished smooth. Absolutely no play in the saddle now.

Of course I had a pleasant break for tea and home-made scones, and just had roast chicken stuffed with rosemary from our garden, and saffron potatoes. Which is nice.

Technically it's in my dad's name. Low interest rate 4.4% so it's better off that way rather than finance

I had the deposit for finance of £2k from a savings account meant for this purchase, I'll pay off a large chunk and cover around £150 a month on repayments (realistically will look to pay it off much sooner) Not much change on insurance, maybe £50 give or take It's a ltd edition so it takes a lot of the styling of a VXR but none of the fuel cunsumption.

Economical for me trekking the M5 often compared to my current banger who's on it's last legs.

Same here. With a fluctuating spring I feel both colonies are not as big as they should be by now but I hope they catch up over May.

Anything from the Thornbridge brewery is utterly fantastic IMO. Very talented brewers are in that place. If you ever get the chance have a Jaipur on tap - you won't be disappointed

From the Ruining your life thread about 2 months ago...:

Well, look what I got back today!

Cab driver found it, and obviously couldnt find me. I registered the serial number at missing with Omega, so when the cabbie eventually decided to hand it in to Omega themselves, it made it back to me. Trying to find his details to fire him off a thank you cheque.

    (date has been fixed..)

I can't get a proper answer on vintage from Omega themselves because it turned out to be a prototype, and uses bits from other watches. As far as they told me, it's the only one they've seen with a black pie-crust face and a champagne dial, parts of which are taken from the constellation series. It also has no external serial or movement number. I was told its either very late 1969, or very early 70's. I like it because it's not a shiney dinner plate like the current trendy ones all seem to be.

    It's cracking - most envious!

I've got a genuine '65 Breitling Top Time - I am mad keen on interesting vintage watches - I'd be mortified if I lost it...

I've been feeling a lot better over the last couple of days. Got a little time to myself which helped a little bit. That's my problem that the children are always there, 24/7 and I rarely get any time to be anything other than 'Daddy'. I kind of dragged myself out of my depression recently, I didn't know I had that kind of willpower.
