Other What currently makes your life awesome?

Spent yesterday on a US Navy Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. It was SO. F***ING. COOL. I am now an honourary 'tailhooker' for my landing. And of course, getting to experience the visceral acceleration of a catapult launch was an experience I will carry with me forever.

Cant say the first few days have been easy, but all the difficulties of the nights melt away when she looks up at me

 

Positive steps towards setting up a new business, some mock ups for a logo.

Only a small step granted but feels good to be working for myself rather than someone else again.

Clearing remaining credit card debt. It's probably been 9 months or more since i've seen light at the end of the tunnel where i realistically can see it going in the next few weeks.

 

Just sold an Apple Mighty Mouse on Gumtree for a few £, and offered to deliver it on my way home. It was a couple of miles off my route, but not the wrong side of town.
Lady was please with the mouse and gave me a bottle of white wine for my trouble.
After so much c**p on Gumtree and unreliable buyers, it really does restore your faith in human nature.

Did some Setup work on my new 8 String yesterday.
Neck Relief was WAY down (almost a back bow at times), saddles needed rasing a little bit. First time I am getting to it since I put new (properly gauged) strings on it.
Plays "cleaner" now.
Also started Dialling in tone, and finally switching on the new studio monitors. It's going to take some time still, as well as some more tinkering and building things, but all's good right now.
All this made me tired now, but inspired and happy.

 

Blimey, that's a rare Gumtree success story. I've had all sorts of bother on there, although admittedly enough passable experiences that I still use it.

 

In SA we call it Scamtree, with all the dodgy things happening on there.

 

True; I still rate it over ebay, as I don't have to post stuff or get screwed on fees.

Just laid underfelt and carpet in the hall to finally call the renovation of my hall complete. Never again.

 

I was on this HMS Bacchante (F69) for a couple of years. I will never forget the power of the ocean to toss this thing about. Terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.

 

Didnt they the NZRN sink her in 2006? Im sure F69 was sold to them renamed and sunk near Wellington

 

I was aware that she had been sold. I am going back to the early 70's when I served as a Royal Marine on her. All over the world and not a photo to show. Mind you there was not the kit that there is today. Great times.

 

Pressed eject on my newly acquired 2nd hand wii u & mario kart 8 popped out so have 2 copies of it.

 

A win's a win, eh? Though technically, if you know it wasn't meant to be part of the deal and you now keep it then you could be accused of theft. If in doubt you might wanna offer to return it if the seller pays the postage. Hopefully they'll say they can't be bothered and you'll be able to keep it legitimately.

 

First instinct was to sell it.
But right you are, got in touch with him to let him know offering to send it back if he pays the postage, balls in his court.
