just finished the first week at my new job, its weird not having a job description other then "do stuff"

these documents are rubbish; redo them, theres a better way of running the network; do it, you get the gist.

also getting paid weekly is awesome,

Aww, tough luck, but at least you're guilt free now. I know I'd be pissed if I let my copy of MK8 go astray.

    Yay for financial responsibility.

I reconciled our joint account against our monthly budget earlier and discovered that we've got a nice little surplus for October. This prompted me to properly review our budget, leading to the further discovery that the monthly surplus is bigger than I thought it was.

I might still be crap at managing my own disposable income but it's pleasing to see the household budget working out so well. We're nowhere near debt-free (lol, chance would be a fine thing! :)) but the debt we do have is far more manageable now than it's ever been.

Following on from what makes my life suck right now (my hellish commute), I get to come home every evening to my 15 month old daughter.
She's at a phase now where she's all smiles, all the time. Tottering about, and starting to speak.

It's amazing....and then she leaves you a nice gift in her nappy to say 'Welcome home, Daddy!'

The local Cinemaxx is showing all three Indiana Jones movies in a row in March 2016.

A friend and I are giddy like little kids and have already bought tickets.

Yeah, just imagine: A Stargate ripoff that tries to introduce Shia LaBeouf as the next Indy. :eyebrow:

Good thing they scrapped that idea.

We actually asked about the fourth movie: They decided to not show it as people would just leave after the first three movies anyway.

Has nobody edited a supercut yet that dispenses with every line from Shiz the Beef, and the entire final act of the film?

Finally been able to get a start on my little room. Got most of my pc set up in there already and the server is back up and running. Just need to find out which box my speakers ended up in (and hoping that it wasn't one that ended up going into storage).

Now I just need to get some more shelving in and see if I can sort out another desk for my painting bits and pieces. Got my old hifi gear to get set up as well at some point (mid to late 80s Technics full system, sounds gorgeous, even now), going to be running that from the line out on my pc as well.

Next on the list is some PC upgrade bits, graphics needs a boost as does memory and CPU, 6 core Xeon time methinks.

    That's excellent of them :)

For me it's living within about a hundred feet of the sea. Every time I open my front door I get "that smell" (it's kinda seaweed mixed with fresh air) and smile :)

Edit: Oops, I just realised you got a few quid. Anyway the quote still holds true.

I'm focused on the few quid part! :)

Had some stuff out for the better or not.

If it all goes down the drain its ultimately for the best. Clearly i don't want that to happen but i can't continuously compromise and tie myself in knots to the point of frustration.
