No idea if I will get stuffed with customs charges yet but it's cheered me up no end

Well the jury has come back with 'not dead' which is good... remains to be seen just how far off 'ok' they are...

But at least there isn't a funeral in my immediate future, and right now i'll take all the positives I can.

I doubt that you will as customs aren't the sort to let these thing sit if they are after a few quid. Normally the deliverer will pay it and then force you to pay it in order to receive the shipment. So if you haven't heard about customs on receiving the package, I would say its very unlikely that you will.

In laws are away for 2 weeks, yesterday was the first time in over a year I actually felt like my old self again. But I despair at the thought of them coming back

 

Just telephoned BT. After my last contract term expired my monthly bill had risen to £63.24. Had already looked at Sky who could save me a little so, asked what BT could do to keep me from moving. After a few minutes on hold, the polite young man said they could do £41.49 over 24 months. RESULT!

Always worth talking to BT, I have never paid the full asking price when renewing the contract.

 

Have you considered quietly disappearing, i.e. leave a pile of clothes on the beach, Reginald Perrin style and start a new life somewhere they can't find you?

 

It went from Silicon Valley to San Fran and apparently it's hit Heathrow already ! they don't mess around !

Have you beem looking through my browsing history lol, since they have been gone it's been like an amazingly huge amount of stress has been removed from my life. I'm not going too fool myself that when they are back everything is going to be magically better.

In the back of my mind I know I know they will be hungry for war when they return and I'll have to either do one if 3 things, put and shut up, leave the family, or take a plunge off Tamar bridge.

Finally got Domestic & General to write off our Hotpoint washer/dryer.

It was 11 years old and in the last year had 9 engineers walk through my door to fix it. This month was the straw that broke the camel's back.

So a nice new shiny one will be delivered on Monday!

Congrats They can be a pain - we had various D&G 'fixes' of our treadmill but after numerous visits and 55+ minutes on hold, they finally wrote it off too.
