You can't beat a blade, even for trimming. A good brush, shaving soap and ASL Bliss...

An electric trimmer should only ever be in your possession for the duration of time in between receiving it as a present (usually from a well-meaning female relative who doesn't understand) and chucking it in the bin. :)

TBF the trimmer is mainly for my head. As with maintaining a clean-shaven face, I gave up on keeping my hair coiffured a long time ago. A quick buzz down to the wood every few months and job done.

I should add that I use one for my head. Once a week with the guard removed does me fine but it never goes near my face.

As much as i appreciate the offer... for reasons i won't go into [but you can probably guess at], that would be a monumentally bad idea...

Without dwelling on it too much, if you mean what I think you mean then I'm sorry to hear that. Have you sought appropriate help?

Finally had a damn breakthrough with my daughter's school.

The worry is that her attendance is falling - If she has a meltdown, I can't get her to school and I don't drive. So I had a letter which said to ask for an appointment to see the headteacher if there are challenges that they can help with.

I took them up on their offer, which they were surprised with. I think the general census is that they complain about attendance, most people just fall into line. So it seems people asking for the meetings are relatively rare.

Spoke to the headteacher, told us the wellbeing team brush off her problems, I can't always get her to school, which in turn affects her sister's attendance as well. Straight away, she offered their minibus service to pick up students that need it, and more support with their team. It's definitely a start; there's not much else we can do until there's a formal diagnosis of ASD. But by the sounds of it, the headteacher kind of scolded the team for not helping.

Update, accepted the position, start on 10th April.
Last 2 years have been total crap, this year started off badly, but now just keeps getting better.

Throwing some left over feta cheese into scrambled eggs along with some chives turned out to be a really good move. Yum.

I fixed my leaking bathtub faucets with $1.50 in packing and $3 of plumber's putty.

I also towed my kids behind my bike for ~12 miles. First ride of the year!

    Seconded...

That's just one of those little life wins that make a huge difference to your day... and on a Monday that can carry over to the whole week!

I found out annual pay rises come in April, which is handy as I have a honeymoon in June and a family holiday in August to save for.

    Speaking of tiny wins...

Finally got Cambridge council to accept the wife is a full time student and apply a 25% discount. Considering I've been paying full whack for the past 5 months, it now means I'm in credit and don't have to pay this month at all - good time to drop £400 on a new GPU :p
