Yes, there is alot of very cool useful-looking driftwood that would be nice to have! But unfortunately they really advise against taking it, or any other pieces of the beach:jawdrop:

Since he didn't answer, I will...

That is the harness, molded to your body, that they use to restrain you while they irradiate you. Getting the body in precise alignment each time so that they can radiate the same spots from different angles is critical, and so they put patients in that and literally bolt them to the machine.

It's that time of year again when I have to do a lot of typing for my coursework, and I realise now just how much I love my MX Greens keyboard and how awesome the typing experience is. The keys are definitely heavy (really heavy) but I've gotten very used to it and I just love typing on them.

I hate to think how dire my uni experience would be without a decent keyboard for typing!

Finally, after waiting for the better part of two months, my Gigabyte X370 board has shipped!
Now I am making an offering to the gods of geekdom in the hope of having it delivered today.

The other half and I joined Slimming World last week. I am quite happy with counting calories/macros, but she didn't think she could lose weight without the support and framework that a programme like Slimming World provides (and she used to go years ago). 1 week in and between the pair of us we've lost 15lbs: she dropped 6lbs and I'm down 9lbs.

I'm still highly cynical about Slimming World. It's more about "Follow our plan and you will lose weight", rather than "This is why our plan helps you lose weight" (pro tip: their plan is extremely light on calories, specifically fats & sugars, that's why it works). As an example: I can apparently eat all the fruit I want for "free" and don't have to count it, but the moment that same fruit goes near a blender I have to count the "syns" (syns are their version of Things That Are Bad For You™©). How the f- does that work? If I eat an apple, a banana, and a handful of red berries as they are then I'm getting exactly the same volume/quantity of stuff - and the same nutritional content - as I would if I had put all that fruit in a blender. And apparently Huel is 20 "syns" per 100g portion, even though 100g of Huel is only 400kcal - for reference Slimming World recommend 5-15 "syns" per day (although my allowance is higher 'cos a fat *******). If I had nothing but Huel then I'd be getting 2000kcal per day (at the suggested serving sizes) and a good balance of macros but apparently that's 100 "syns". F- off mate...

But whatever, I'll stick with it because she asked me to and 9lbs off is still 9lbs off.

Allocated first choice for primary school for the littl'un.

Enormous sense of relief given the level of over-subscription in the area, and all of the parents that tell stories about this one friend of a friend of a friend that didn't get any of their places three times in a row and have three kids all going to different special measures schools that are all 10 miles away in the opposite directions all with different holidays.

Now just need to figure out what to do with what's in the box marked "Plan B: Private School Funds"

Buy an old car and teach the little blighter to fix it, you get a car, and they get a Mechanic's education!

Had one of the best days of my life so far. Can't go into detail because it's very personal but yeah, not felt this sort of relief and happiness in many a year.

What I will say is I have an incredible family and most notably brother. Today my brother did the most amazing thing for me and I've never felt so loved in my life.

    Rock on

Thanks. Glad you had a good day, family can be a pain sometimes, but if you're lucky enough to have a good one they never cease to amaze you.

I was talking to my brother Friday about the trouble we were having getting a mortgage and even though he's just had a kid, offered to loan me his savings towards the deposit if it helped.
