Yesterday I had an interview that I'm really positive about.
I have a phone interview coming up in 10 minutes.
I managed to nail a big piece of work that had stumped me for weeks.
I'm losing weight like nobody's business.

Feeling pretty positive for once today :).

Bagged a new backpack carrycase for my Inspire drone, saving myself 80 odd quid on the UK ticket price!

Some of the commercial work I do with the drones needs me to carry the equipment in on foot to filming locations, there is no other way. So using the standard case that comes with the Inspire is a major PITA! It's like a suitcase and carrying that for more than 10 minutes becomes a chore really quickly. So I looked about for backpack carry cases for the drone.

I found one, the Inspak, but the UK price was £220 and I couldn't find one second hand either. The US manufacturer had a deal on $99.95 for the case. So I ordered it. It's cost me around £74 for the case, £40 delivery and £19.40 import duty and VAT on it, so I've saved around £80. Bonus!!! Being a Yorkshire man, saving a bob or two is always a great feeling!!

I'm waiting for delivery, I have a hike planned to a filming location next week in the Peak District. My air observer will be carrying the safety gear in a rucksack and I'll be lugging the Inspire in it's new case. We've got a 10 mile round walk so the case will get put through it's paces well enough. From the reviews I've read, it should stand up to it and be comfortable enough. Hope so or else it's going to be a miserable hike:D

Just found a bag of PC modding supplies that went missing about two years ago. Must have gone through over the back of the drawer and fell onto the floor where it's almost impossible to access.

Touch, though. Got loads of red cable ties, loads of black ones, some grommets to fill small screw holes and a PSU 24 pin starter "lump" thing.

Got the all clear after a hemiplegic migraine with aura that no stroke occurred. Third day in the hospital, looks like I'll have one more before I go home.

Got Sky to give me the 76mb fibre for an extra £2.50 a month. I'm glad my bartering skills are pretty good.

went ATV'ing around Rhayader with the old man and a few mates. we rode over the hills to the Claerwen Dam and ended up following the Porsche owners club up to the dam before riding around reservoir. after a pub lunch the sun came out so we hit the southern part of the Florida Strata and its many river crossings.

    what a day.

Finally had time to develop a first roll of film, and it turned out great. (The whole process was a lot easier than I expected actually)
It's a small thing, but pulling the film out off the developing reel and seeing those little negatives made me grin like an idiot. :D

No more waiting >7 days to get B&W film developed for me. :)

I always struggled getting the roll of negative out of the canister... they were always so flimsy and I'd often crush it trying to pry the end off to get the roll of film out.

I was part of the last year group to work with film at college before they went digital only [and moved to a new building without a darkroom].

It was always on me to deal with the developer, so i think spent more time with my arm in a vat of chemicals than i did taking photos. The college did have the 'cocktail shaker' things too, but they were only any good if you were only developing a few rolls of film.

I loved developing B&W film. I did a short photography course in college nearly 20 years ago, and when I tried to develop my own film a couple of years ago it was amazing how quickly it all came back. I needed hardly any practice to get the film out of the canister and into a daylight tank.

I haven't touched a roll of film since college, but i'm sure I could do it again if I ever needed to. A lot of my classmates hated it, especially having to do it all in pitch darkness.

My main memory of developing film at college was how the college dark room always smelled [to me at least] of burnt matches.

Realising, after a few minutes of thinking this episode of Father Ted had a slightly peculiar but nonetheless funny slant, that I'd accidentally pressed the "audio description" button on the remote.

    Shiny shiny new PC Parts

Specifically; I just replaced the heart and mind of my machine, with a shiny new R7 1700, Asrock Taichi, and 16GB o' Corsair LPX. My Word does this thing sing compared to the old 8120, now I just need to replace my 670 for something a bit quicker and i'll be able to run new games.

Spent a couple of hours or so gaming for the first time in about two months, when I had a brief fling with VR.

Need For Speed decided to put me back to the beginning (Goodbye Ferrari, *sniff sniff*) which isn't a bad thing 'cause I bought the game for my mate for his Bday so now we can play together on a level playing field. Feels kinda good.

I passed my first Architecture Registration Exam (here in the US), so that's 1/6 down. I have another this Friday and then another two Tuesdays after that.

So hopefully I'll be half done by the end of this month. If all goes to plan I'll be licensed by October.
