Learning that the unfamiliar bird song that caught my ear a few days ago was very probably a Nightingale. Very unusual because we don't normally get them this far north.

    Awesome. Thanks, BBC Country File.

Just put the last words down for my Micro:bit User Guide, and ahead of tomorrow's 100% milestone (despite having been delayed by about a month earlier down the road.)

There's still a lot of work ahead - photography, screenshots, then author review once it's all been past the editors - but it's an achievement, nonetheless.

Now, if the publisher could only see fit to actually pay the 50% milestone that was due three months ago along with the 100% milestone so I won't have been working for free...

I've had a week out of work, been on 3 camping trips in a week and am having a lazy day today before I return to the rat race. Feeling great :)

I went on a 1 night camp to the Peak District last Friday, with a hike up Grindsbrook Clough on to the Kinder Plateau, from Edale and returning to Edale. Then I took my youngest daughter last Tuesday for a 2 night camp, where we had two hikes, a lowland and peaks hike. My eldest daughter and wife were at work but my youngest had a week off school so we took advantage of the break. She loved it and wants to go back again soon!

I got back Thursday, had one night at home with the missus and both my daughters and then went out again on the Friday for another 1 night camp, this time on our volunteer camping project I run, where we take families away for their first camping experience as a family, at no cost to them and we provide the equipment.

The families can be experiencing issues as a family unit and there are pre-requisites they must meet before we accept them on to the project. The intention is to encourage the families to take up outdoor activities as family units, to strengthen family bonds and to encourage positive attitudes.

We recently received some funding for a new tent for the families to use, so we got an 8 man tent. Previously we only had 4 man tents so for large families we had to split them up. With the new tent we can keep them together in 1 tent. Currently, we take one family away at a time, we lay on outdoor pursuits and keep them active whilst they are with us. The bigger tent was really needed so happy days!!

These are some of my pictures from my solo camp in the peaks:

Been a really crappy couple of weeks. Then I got this email from my wife who flies home tonight..

Just about to leave the hotel. Bus will be here in 15 minutes.
I will be very happy to resume home life with you.
    And eat chocolate and curry!!

And everything doesn't seem so bad :) The curry was my idea lol.

When the car insurance that you cannot afford to renew doesn't run out at the start of the month as you had thought, but instead goes until the 11th!! Yay, another week of being able to drive before I have to resort to taking the bus. :)

Who knows? I might even be able to manage a week or two of that before having to go without lunch and walk the 4 miles either way to work... :(

Just smoked my first real Cuban cigar. Thought I would puke, but it was actually rather pleasurable.

    Thanks to this

And some studying I have managed to separate and ID all of the components. I have named them what they are called on the board so now I know where everything has to go.

Switched back into the PC-P80R, and since everything seems to be RGB these days, the PC glows red again.
