One of those days at work that's somehow busy, yet at the same time don't seem to have done anything meaningfully productive, and just as I start to get just a little fed up with it, my wife and daughter wander into my office with a plate chocolate chip and marshmallow cookies they've been baking.

And just like that, everything is better.

    Housework mang.

I'm getting addicted to it. I always start out the day saying "Right, not doing anything today" and before I know it I'm washing, cleaning, wiping and polishing. And it's really bloody satisfying. Like just now I went out and cleaned all of the cupboard doors and handles. They've not looked that good since I bloody wrapped them !

    Plus everything smells nice. Awesome..

My problem is that I've just moved and now everything is a bombsite. I did clean the entire kitchen though.

You know you're a boring adult when you get excited by appliances - I was stoked that I got a Steam Mop.

We used to have a steam mop. Then we realised that the heads get dirty so fast that all you are really doing is dragging a hot dirty cloth around the floor. Hope you have more luck :D

So I just fixed a big problem. When my wife left we agreed I would keep the 65" TV. She got lots more stuff, and I gave her my Sharp 32" TV from the bedroom so she has a TV. It was nothing special, but well looked after and in very good nick. Any way, that left me with no TV in the bedroom. I remembered I had a 1080p Hannspree monitor (24") so I connected it up. The speakers are utterly useless. I mean so bad I could not watch Adrian Mole because it does not have subs. So I watched Casino with subs instead. Any way yeah, all I need is a set of speakers right? well my wife accidentally took the power supply for those. I'm getting it back, but watching TV in bed is important. It helps me get off to sleep.

Any way, realised I still had an old Klipsch Ipad docking station speaker thing and asked the ex if I could have it. She was awesome, said yeah no problems. Problem is it's a dock. So I made a stand out of white shelving and put the monitor on that and the speaker dock inside. YAY VOLUMES !!!!!111

Woke up around 10:30. This was after forcing myself back to sleep three times. Any way, I got up and brought a drink into the living room to take my mound of morning pills. Curtains have been closed fast for about three days, nothing to see really.

Around 11:30 I went out into the kitchen to make my cup of tea. I had to stop doing it the moment I awoke because I kept scolding myself like an idiot. It's at least an hour before I am conscious enough to handle boiling water and even then I'm a bit clumsy. Any how, walked into the kitchen and just felt his lovely warmth. Back window is open to dry the washing, could literally smell the warmth. Came back into the living room and opened the curtains and two of the three bay windows. The smell. My god, it's intoxicating. I can smell the sea, smell the salt air and smell the warmth. Plus I can feel the breeze on my back.

Nothing beats this. No drugs, no alcohol...

The coffee finally got me to take a jigsaw and some rubble sacks and finally cut up the 5 leftover 8ft lengths of trunking (for the TV, stereo etc) and cut them up and get them bagged up so that I can chuck it.

It only took me four years to do :S Happy though, though it was kinda gross. As I hoovered it large dust bunnies formed about the size of a tennis ball and you could hear the Oreck struggle as it swallowed them down lol.

Drawing up plans to convert my glass desk into a PC case using a mid-plate mounted flush to the A-frame that leaves a PERFECT amount of space to fit a motherboard horizontally and allow full view of the gubbins.

Would require the PSU to be mounted underneath the plate (good for hiding all the cables anyways), along with any radiators, and the GPU to be mounted via a PCI-E ribbon cable, but that just allows an even better view!

Of course, I don't actually have a PC now, and don't plan on building another for a while yet, but it's a project to work on and take my time with until I'm ready to get back into it proper.... And it means loads of space for a REALLY big monitor when it comes shopping time hehe.

Got called a shemale (as a casual observation) and a goddamn faggot (term of opprobrium) and i just tossed my hair back out of my face and ignored them.

People forget that saying shemale at the wrong moment gets people killed in the US-17 so far this year. But I wish people would learn so I didn't have to be so awesome towards them. Still proud of myself for my reserve at those points.

Today was a phenomenal day for me and my wife.

Firstly, I had a load of hardware turn up, including one of the most rare Z170 motherboards ever produced... win for me more so than the wife. She gave me the "oh my God" expression. Ah well. A man needs his gear!

Secondly, I got my permanent resident notice from USCIS. I'm now officially a permanent resident of the USA!!! :D
