This was actually the second time I've done that. You would think that after the first time I'd be checking every single time, but apparently not... Hence the £3 hi-viz reminder cable!

EDIT: Second time I've ridden off with the lock still attached, but it's the first time I've broken something while doing it!

    Diamond encrusted or platinum coated?

Can't imagine diamond encrusted brake pads would do the rotor much good :thumb:. TBH I'm more p!ssed off about the £141 for a small piece of bloody metal to attach the caliper to the frame... The dealer sure as hell isn't the cheapest place around but their service is stellar, and I have no desire to risk voiding my warranty...

What bike is it if you don't mind me asking?

It's a mistake I am yet to make and really hope I never do but it happens to so many :duh: Could be worse, I'm constantly forking out £200-£300 for top end rebuilds after seizures and that's parts doing it myself.

Don't mind at all :). It's a 67-plate Honda NC750X (manual clutch, not the DCT model), registered in December. Not the most powerful thing out there by a long shot, but it still accelerates faster than pretty much anything else on the road (aside from other bikes :thumb:). It's a practical bike: I commute every day on it, so the high MPG, comfortable seat, upright riding position, and easy handling suit me down to the ground :).

And I lied, it was £44 for brake pads... but bloody £35 on bolts and retaining pins, etc, though!

Ah! As far as the adventure style bikes go I think those things are bloody gorgeous, I don't even know why, could be a real contender for my "practical bike". I've been going back and forwards between the Africa Twin, 1200GS and even an older Varadero.

Making my life awesome: Just had a go at Portal 2 Co-op since I never did when I last played, got into the tutorial and my team mate is a young kid, 13, autistic, very chatty and friendly, he guided me through the tutorial and even explained to his mum what we were doing, I never wanted to leave that game because I could tell he was really enjoying helping someone and playing the game, made me feel good.

Didn't get into portal 1 at all, but absolutely loved playing portal 2 with my brother.

It seems pretty good, didn't get all that far in but all good fun so far. I think the last game I played in co-op that I enjoyed like that was Borderlands, with @DragunovHUN

Just polished off Chapter 6a of my new book. Now just 6b (shorter), 6c (about the same length), 7, and the four appendices to do, and... 19 days left to do 'em in if I want to get my bonus.

    TYPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

    Watching England play football.

    Penalties. We won on penalties.

QF a great result for the young team, hope people drop the 'coming home' malarkey.

I'm trying to work out how.

I did live there once upon a time.

I'm tight and grumpy if that counts.

Oh and I do love haggis.

Ah, fortunately being tight and grumpy is neither necessary not sufficient to be Scottish :D

Mostly small cool things from some of the companies we work with but with plans to go bigger and better if we get a good response.

Everyone likes to feel appreciated; things like this work well on that front.
Big or small, it shows some regard for the forumites out there.

A brilliant giveaway I won on here (from a user not B-T) was a s775 Shuttle PC that needed some TLC. Just replaced it this month and will be passing it on soon on the MP
