The NHS. Had theconsultation for my hernia, surgeon confirms they'll operate pretty quickly, runs through the side effects, I sign off on it. Super, getting somewhere now I think. Then he says if I want they can do the pre-surgery checks now, well sure thing! Beats having to come back and take another half day off. Pop next door, fill in a questionaire, one nurse takes my measurements, another then runs through my questionaire to check all is OK and get a few finer details, both really friendly, really helpful. Could have it sorted in the next 4 weeks! I was thinking it'd be 4-6 months so this was amazing news and a great relief as it's just getting more and more painful.

There are men on my street digging holes and running cables.
Curious as to what they were up to, I went over to say hi.
They're from Openreach. The cables are for FTTP.

After 8 years of crappy (<3Mbit) fixed-line internet, the time may be nigh. Just about the time I finally have LTE sorted to a point where I have all the speed I need and don't really have to think too much about the data limit, but hey ho!

Here's to hoping it's enabled for the full-fat gigabit pipe. But even then I won't be disappointed with 330Mbit

Are you implying that my normal anglo-american private schoolboy voice isn't one of the people?

Haha I'm guessing you're a North Somerseter? In the little corner of South Somerset in which I grew up, it would have been very similar, but with "wozz'n youdoin downthurole?"

    I miss it.

only the ****ing best birthday gifts ever

a few weeks back I was talking to an arty farty friend of mine and one thing led to another we ended up talking about artists who we admire and whose works inspire us, I mentioned I was a big fan of the works of Koichi Mugitani and long story short I ended up sending her one of his artbooks, anyway skip on to this morning and I get a box arrive; inside was a birthday card and these things

what I didn't realise that several pages from his artbook were concepts for an online battling game/toy/figure line that actually got made and she recognised them having seen them in an online toy store years ago. So now I have actual physical Koichi Mugitani artwook, I am actually ****ing buzzing

A number of things this week...

Yesterday, I got my radio flashed so that I can add a rear view camera to my truck. They didn’t have the camera kit in stock, so they overnighted one for me and it’s now in my living room.

One of my favorite OC buddies sent me his finest sample of my favorite boards of all time. Mint condition, in the original box and with all accessories. It arrived today before I left for work after bringing the wife home from her tooth extraction.

I know a few of you will know what this board is... there’s a sneak peek. :)

Lastly, we had a BBQ at work today which was just an awesome time. I’m also making friends with high up people in the industry, and they love me.

A very good week, all said and done. Plus the fact that it was a three and a half day week was just the icing on the cake.

Enjoying a little Martin Harley on the amp and speakers I just collected from @Mojo

Great speakers and amp, and a fantastic chap too! Definitely a good day.

Addendum: drunk playing with a light saber listening to music too loud. ****in a.

Twin sisters wedding on the weekend, eventful but a whole lot of fun and finally managed to encourage the missus to dance with me!

By the end of the night everyone was up and dancing which was really fun.

Felt a bit **** the following day not necessarily the hangover or exhaustion but it leaves me as the remaining sibling unmarried. I feel no pressure and I have no fear it will happen but I'm up against it financially so its going to be a long while before I can pocket enough cash to be in a similar position, I'm also the only one without a mortgage..... I earn the most yet have the least... If I had my time again I'd go back to 22 year old me and slap him silly so 26 year old me didn't need to stress and clear up his mess!!

Still making ends meet, my time will come, Difficult roads lead to beautiful places and all that crap...

If you need/want recipes, hit me up... my cookbook/recipe archive is... extensive.

It's a little light on african cuisine though.

Victory! The laptop I accidentally purchased has a 1080P panel instead of the 768P panel I thought it did. Success!

So what exactly have you bought? Besides an extraneous laptop.
