    It’s a Dell E7470 with an i7 6600U, 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD that’s going to get changed for a 250GB drive of some flavor.

It does support NVMe, so possibly one of those. :)

Quality bit of adulting over the last few days. A few phone calls to various companies to whom I pay a monthly charge, telling them I wish to pay less of a monthly charge.
    Net result, £50/month better off.

I didn't even bother with threats to cancel or retentions departments as I couldn't be all that bothered with that whole song and dance. I probably could have done better all around, but this was easy. Simply called customer services, was quite candid in saying I want my bill to be reduced, and in all cases mere minutes later, I'm paying less.

Getting the keys to our new house on Monday, Tuesday i start Uni, i have to move all our gear over, change the kids schools with the council and drop them to school if it isn’t done asap miles away while being at Uni at the same time, sort bills out, clean current property top to bottom so the landlord doesn’t try to withhold the deposit we paid… still waiting for my funding/loans to go though

However what’s awesome is i haven’t got to wait 4 weeks for broadband because i did it minutes after putting putting my deposit down!

    Busy times but good times.

We're currently looking, while the missus sees if the gardens are large enough to be worth viewing i'm checking the fibre availability. :thumb:

26!? Jeez man you've got loads of time. I was still pissing every spare bit of cash up a wall at 26. And lots that wasn't spare! :hehe: Don't pressurise yourself into thinking you should have things or have done things at a certain point in your life, things will pan out for you I'm sure. If you're already at a place in your life where you want to prioritise the future more then great, go with that, but make sure you don't sacrifice all the fun in your life for it. You’re still young, enjoy it before it hurts too much to.

You could be 25 like me and $10k in the hole in credit cards... don’t worry too much.

Thankfully I’ve gotten it down to $4500 or so over the last three months. Working so much overtime and piling all of the spare cash into it is paying off, albeit a little miserable for now.

We are looking to move to a new house next year, with plans to keep this place to rent out.

I will retire at 55, damn it!

If anyone asks me what my dream job is I always say retired billionaire, but they often don't get it. "Why would you want to retire, you’re still young?". Why would you not? Unless you're in a job you love and that has meaning for you, e.g. nurse, then why on earth would you carry on working?

    Wot he said!

A few years back I found a tax return from when I was 22/23 and saw I earned just over £32k that year. I was living at home, didn't own a car, was single - What did I have to show for it? NOTHING. I literally don't even remember how I spent that much money on nothing... I could have had my own place at 25 if I was smart. But that's what life is about - you make the mistakes while you're young and learn not to make them again (hopefully).

I ended up doing a lot of "growing up" over a short period of time (learning to drive, moving out, getting married, first baby on the way all within 4 years), and it's cost me a lot so I now have some debt to my name when I should have savings. But I learned a lot of lessons along the way, and once all these foundation blocks are down and set, I have the tools and knowledge to get back on track and do it properly.

As long as you always remember what's really important, and you're willing to make the sacrifices and put the work in, you can recover. :thumb:

    Exactly!

There's so much to do there really isn't enough time to fit a job in, of course I want to win the lottery - there's too many things to be done.

Too many holidays to be had, to many games to be played, too much food to be eat, drink to be drank and too many mods to be modded. God imagine the workshop! :jawdrop::dremel:
