I have several CPC mags from 2009-2011 and they are bigger and nearly twice as thick as the last one I got with a sub about a year ago.

I am going to sub at some point soon. I'm getting bored of the ones I have haha.

I used to get Computer Shopper back in the day (cover-mounted MechWarrior II demo for the win) and it was like a telephone directory...

...because Dell, Gateway 2000, HP, Evesham, CCL, and every other company in the British Isles paid to stick a 20-page catalogue in there. Not loose, actually bound with the magazine - but with slightly smaller pages, so it naturally fell open to one of them when you were flicking through.

D'you know what? I loved it. Bring back catalogues, dammit!

haha yeah I remember those things !

Who was it who used to make components? RS? have you ever seen one of their catalogues? you could literally use it to bludgeon someone.

Yeah, CPC does an annual Big Book which is about a foot thick. Makes a great backstop for air rifles...

    EDIT:
Totally forgot: if you get, from memory, the second and third editions of the Raspberry Pi User Guide side-by-side, the third is noticeably thinner. It actually has more pages, but Wiley switched to thinner (cheaper) paper!

It's all digital now. But the last RS catalog we received at work was 7 phone book sized volumes in a card slip case

That was them. We used to have a shelf full of them at the computer shop I worked at, because one of our guys used to repair monitors and another used to repair Amstrads. We were the only place in the UK who did Amstrads, as my boss bought the name and all of the stock from Alan Sugar when he got rid.

Had to recycle a lot of my CPC before we headed to NZ. Although they may still be in the loft, no idea now.

Still got issue 1 mind, I think you sent that to me @Gareth Halfacree when you found it a drawer.

'tweren't have been me: I didn't start writing for CPC until it was long-established.

It was somebody definitely at BT clearing out their drawers of old stuff - not at the time of issue 1 :)

Then it still definitely ain't me: I've never even visited the offices, much less worked in 'em. Not pre-Dennis, not Dennis, not post-Dennis.

Actually feel like I've achieved something today however small it may be, couple other bits

    - Pay covered everything and more than just the minimum payments so I'm ahead of the game
    - Getting a free exercise bike/cross trainer tomorrow
    - Despite eating really badly the last week I'm still sitting at 14st 6lbs

Hadn't had a good fryup in ages and seeing as how today is my misses first late shift on patrol, thought it would be ideal prep.

So god damn proud of her and so happy that she's in the job she's always wanted and loves it.

Just started in the police, only her third shift today. She's absolutely loving it, but considering she's wanted this since she was 15 and it took 10 years to get in, that's not surprising.

    After lots of sanding, sculpting, and more sanding;

I think I'm about done on body prep for it. Also with a custom sculpted piece to better fit my hand-shovel, and cover some of the gap between the Glock frame and the LG body.

Now.. To wait patiently for China shipping.

That looks great - but reading it suggests this isn't your first post on this - have you published a project log, cos I'd like to see more?
