Air frame will fall apart before the engines see EoL, that's for sure.

Went through my painting stuff, only four paints and two glues have died since I last went in the case. Not bad, considering there's somewhere in the region of 150 paints.

As mentioned in the sucky life thread, I had an absolutely fantastic weekend at a country festival with my best friends and goddaughter, spent some time with, and got to know the woman of my dreams a bit better, even though she's not long ended a long distance relationship, I feel that there's a closeness there, so I'm gonna give it a go (in due course)

My 2 year old grandson he's mad runs around like a madman and make's me smile and as I struggle with depression he's my light at the end of the tunnel and he's still not told old for a wee cuddle and often comes to me to have a little nap.

Yup. Painting still works. Now, to wait for more primer so I can paint the entire magazine..

I'll need to wait for the new screen to arrive to decide how much needs hacking out of the main body to let it sit nicely, so painting that just won't be happening any time soon.

Community contributions for closed captions on the YouTube videos are now open to the community after many requests for it. I'll be going through them every Tuesday and Friday so fear not if there's a delay in them getting accepted.

I'm going to ask the woman of my dreams if she feels the same way this weekend. I'm paralytic with nerves, but I want her to know how I feel and then I guess I/we go from there.

    If you're nervous it's worth it :)

Good luck. Better out than in, so to speak. :thumb:

I've never seen lightning so frequent as it was last night. The storms didn't pass directly over us but, around 11:30 or so it was constant flashing and a continuous rumbling, instead of the usual flash followed by a bang a few seconds later.

EDIT: Reason for relatively low noise level, better explanation from our local BBC forecaster, from Twitter:

"Combo of distance & altitude of storms. Altitude important even when range to storm seems quite short. These storms are elevated (higher altitude of cloudbase) with prodigious intra-cloud lightning (as is 85% of all lightning). Thunder sound to descend via much air to observer."

    Same (though not outside).

Got me all nostalgic, grew up near Chicago where storms like that are pretty frequent and as a kid I always used to love sitting back and watching.

You don't live near Brize Norton do you?

Well, Brize, or anywhere near Fairford really. Cuz the Lanc went tech on Saturday and after repairs got airborne for the Air Tattoo display from Brize. Her display profile would have taken her over quite a bit of a countryside surrounding Fairford.

    Nope, North London.

    Edit: https://www.mylondon.news/news/west-london-news/battle-britain-memorial-flight-flying-16617987

Given I posted my previous note at 15:03 on Sunday, the estimated timing was pretty accurate for when it would fly over Barnet (near me).

The office is, somehow, still 30 degrees of your finest English Celsius this morning, so I've set up a little field office instead.
