This is making me think of my son a couple of weeks in at Cardiff, hasn't got a decent warm or waterproof coat. Has bought an umbrella though! :hehe:

We had a pretty dry autumn/winter last year, I think we're paying for it now.

Tattoo booked for the 3rd of December, I had it booked for August, originally made the booking the beginning of March so its been a long time coming...

Seems silly but I could really do with that time to myself, something entirely selfish, impractical but for me

Blowing the dust off Crysis and discovering its like slipping back into a pair of comfy slippers. I'm enjoying seeing how hard i can push this engine on today's hardware to boot. It's scary to think how advanced it was and still is, you'd never guess it was 13 years old.

I'm back from two and a bit days at a customer site.

Customer was fine, but I'm developing a deep loathing for one of my new colleagues work ethics (IE: Every opportunity is a 10 minute break, no effort put into doing things logically, basically making everything take longer). The customer contact looked enough like Boris from Goldeneye that I couldn't get "I am invincible!" out of my head every time he spoke.

I was also introduced to a piece of endpoint management software that I love deeply. It's about three clicks to restore user data, the applications and all their preferences. Even going from 7-10. It's wonderful, and based on what was installed (~150 laptops and ~70 desktops - It was their ~3 year hardware refresh on a good chunk of their endpoints), I expect it cost the earth too.

but, I'm home. Which is nice.

Fo76 private servers next week. Just as I have a load of leftover server parts in my mitts.

Finally home. 7 days seemed like forever with mostly rubbish weather.

Was absolutely awesome to catch up with Tre. We went to a lan night, my first ever. Was a great laugh. Being totally crap didn't help haha.

Now I have an enormous pile of PC gear to get stuck into.

So cheers Tre, hope to see you again soon matey.

@Vault-Tec You're most welcome, glad you enjoyed the evening.
It's none to serious and good for banter and biscuits if nothing else!
I've not got much better over the years, and think that ageing reflexes don't help.
Enjoy your extreme X99 build, a VM monster for sure...

Insurance. We're picking the cat up from the Hyperthyroid Cat Centre on Sunday, and they've just called to get me to settle the bill. My copay is £283.08, but I paid a £200 deposit so I only owe £83.08.

Given my copay is 10%, that means that without insurance the treatment would have cost me £2,830.80. Not counting all the tests and stuff at the local vet.

The fun'll come later on, when my already-£40-a-month-or-something-stupid pet insurance renews...

Might be going to Oslo for a night or two.

Admittedly work related, but I still get to wander around a bit of a country on my 'to visit' list on someone else's dime if I do the job.

A message from a friend. I sent him a bit of money to help him buying good headphones a few months back. He just messaged me to let me know that these very headphones are his only chance for privacy in a place he's been staying in for the last month. And he thanked me again for the money.

He's an overwhelmingly nice and friendly person and I'm just really happy I had the chance to make his life a little bit better.
