Following from an discussion over on the serious discussions forum.. i thought it was be interesting to see what demographic the regular bit-tech forum visitors are. Are we all computer geeks and tech geeks? Do we have a high proportion of arts students amongst our ranks? Or are there more career orientated individuals here, with degrees in the medicine and finance? Well, i'll start of then. I have a BEng (Hons) Engineering with Business Finance from UCL and LSE. (yes i went to both, no they are not separate degrees) basically, I was taught mechanical engineering at UCL and economics and accounting & finance at LSE. So i'm not sure how I came to hang around a computer forum with all you geeks!
ive got a foundation degree in computing and mathematics and also gonna complete a degree in computing and advanced networking... its all similar stuff...and goes by my head alot... ho hum.
I started off in the RAF in digital comms/systems many moons ago and thought I could not do that for a living so followed a passion instead. Have BSc Hons in Sports Science and Physiology from Glasgow and develop/design exercise programmes for chronically diseased.
BSc (Hons) Robotics & AI Like s29feb I also served in HRM Armed Services, though unlike him I'm not a Air Crab ;-) Royal Signals Corp, Quad-Traded as: Area Systems Operator (Trunk) - ASOp Area Systems Operator (Access) - ASOp Electronics Warfare Operator - EWOp Electronic Intelligence - ElInt
Bit pointless, wanting to do something like go to a specific uni and do a specific course, means little, having done it, got the degree, thats what counts.
BEng (Hons) Communications Engineering Unlike KelticFox i'm doing a degree first then joining HRM Armed Forces in the Royal Corps of Signals afterwards.
I'm going to study business (specifically entrepreneurship) next year. Which reminds me, I'm supposed to be working on my college apps right now.
BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Computing BA Politics and International Relations (never finished, did the three years but didn't finish the dissertation) Currently: Halfway through a PGCE in Mathematics Modding and tinkering is far too good a hobby to ruin by turning it into work
Did a year and a half of B.Eng (electical) but dropped out. CBA studying. Kind of regretting it now though.
No degree here, didn't have the time to go the whole way. NC and an HNC in Electronic Engineering though. Might finish it one day and get a BSc, you never know. Funny thing is I do electronics in my work.
