If you want an off the shelf job, ask people at PCWorld, if you want us to reccomend you a pre-built system post in Hardware and Overclocking. NOT Tech Support.
£300 then, with a 19" Sony monitor, legal XPMC, 1Gb ram, 160Gb HDD, TV tuner and the other bits? Really... Moved to HW It's a very cheap (under £40) graphics card, looks like a very weak link in the system if you want games.
surfing the internet and the ocasional bit of office work would be fine. I wouldnt even attempt to run a decent game on that thing
thats almost cringe worthy with an asking price like that...as for the x1300 i thought they stopped giving those out in happy meals ages ago
More power where? What is it you want to do with the PC? If you don't even take the time to tell people what you want to use the thing, you'll end up spending half a grand of something that quite probably won't be suited well to you. If you actually want to be pleased with this purchase, I suggest you learn a bit about PC's just by reading forums like this one, or at the very least go over what you actually want out of the PC.
Why don't you build it yourself? Most people here do, it's a top notch way of getting power, stability and looks for value.
i really dont see whats wrong with that pc, as far as being a media centre is pretty well suited, could maybe do with a bigger hdd but other than that everything is geared to the media aide fo things, even that "crappy" x1300 is actually good as the x1000 series are very adept at decoding H.264 however it wont have hdcp so isnt in truth that good in the real world however for gaming its pretty crap
